Millwall have completed the signing of Scotland striker Scott Dobie from West Brom in a deal worth up to 750,000.

Albion accepted a bid from Preston for the 26-year-old last week, but after considering it, Dobie turned it down.

"We've been good for Scott and Scott has played his part in getting this club into the Premier League," said Baggies caretaker boss Frank Burrows.

"He's hungry enough to look for first team football elsewhere and this is his chance to get that at Millwall."

Millwall assistant boss Ray Wilkins was delighted at the prospect of Dobie's arrival at the New Den, where he will team up again with former West Brom team-mate Danny Dichio.

"Scott's a good height, works his socks off and is a proven goalscorer," assistant boss Ray Wilkins told the Lions' website.

"We've been in touch with West Brom regarding Scott for two or three months."

Dobie began his career at Carlisle, before joining West Brom in July 2001.

He scored 26 goals in 64 full appearances for the Baggies, but fell down the pecking order this season after the signings of Kanu and Robert Earnshaw.
