Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

A broken leg hampered Ebanks-Blake's career in 2005

Plymouth have signed Manchester United striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake for a potential club-record fee.

The 20-year-old has agreed a three-year deal with the Pilgrims to become Holloway's first signing since he was appointed Argyle manager two weeks ago.

The initial fee is 200,000, which could rise to over 300,000 depending on the forward's appearances.

"I'm very, very pleased," said Holloway. "He's someone I have been monitoring for some time."

Holloway added: "He's got power, he's got pace, he's hungry to make a reputation. He will be a threat to opponents when we have got the ball and when we haven't."

"I am as excited about having him here as he is about coming.

"I looked him in the eyes when I met him and I am convinced he is someone eager to succeed and who, in my opinion, is as honest as the day is long."

Ebanks-Blake will link up with his new team-mates on Saturday when the Pilgrims play a pre-season friendly at Grays Athletic before flying out for their week-long Austrian training-camp - and a glamour game against Real Madrid.
