 Svensson has suffered another blow Southampton defender Michael Svensson will be sidelined until the new year following further knee surgery. The 30-year-old Sweden international only recently battled back from an 18-month absence which forced him to miss Euro 2004.Svensson missed Saints' last two games and underwent surgery on Monday.Physio Jim Joyce told the club website: "Michael cannot put full weight on the knee for two months, but he will be reviewed before then."
