17 Jun 1916 - "The Dop Doctor." (original) (raw)

At the request of the South African Prime

Minister (General Botha) the Home Secretary

(Mr. Herbert Samuel) has prohibited

the exhibition of the film "The Love

Doctor," which is founded on Richard

Dehan's well-known novel of that name describing

the siege of Mafeking. The ground

of General Botha's objection is that the film

wrongly represents the Boers as being cheats

and immoral.
