Young Adult Residential Treatment
(Ages 18-26)
Welcome to Paradigm
At Paradigm Treatment, we are dedicated to identifying, understanding, and properly treating the core issues that impact adolescents, young adults, and their families. Rather than merely containing or shaping behaviors, our teen and young adult residential treatment programs are committed to assisting young people by addressing the deeper, more difficult issues that impact their lives. These issues range from anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and school problems, diagnoses such as bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder (BPD), to contemporary challenges such as self-harm, and technology addictions.
Our teen and young adult residential treatment options are personalized to those facing mental, emotional, and behavioral health challenges, with an average length of stay of 30–90 days. We are proud to offer one of the most clinically intensive programs in the country, which includes four individual therapy sessions per week, multiple daily group therapy sessions, and a comprehensive family therapy component. Psychiatric care, medication management, recreational therapy, nutrition, and academics are all core components of the program.
At Paradigm Treatment, accessibility matters. On our mission to help as many families as possible, Paradigm is in-network with most major insurance carriers, including Anthem, Optum, ComPsych, Kaiser, MHN, Multiplan, and Zelis. For cases where we are not contracted, we work with out-of-network benefits or negotiate single-case agreements. Unfortunately, we cannot accept Medi-Cal or Medicaid at this time.

Paradigm’s History
At Paradigm, we’re proud to be among the top adolescent residential treatment centers in the country. But our growth and ability to help teens and adolescents nationwide didn’t happen overnight. Founded in 2012, Paradigm Treatment’s mission was to address a significantly underserved group: teenagers (ages 12-17) grappling with mental health challenges. At that time, most residential programs for teens were long-term (6-9 months) and focused on behavior modification with a more punitive approach to teen residential treatment.
Paradigm introduced a short-term (30-90 days), intensive teen residential treatment program specifically designed to address mental health issues such as teen anxiety, teen depression, and teen trauma. Instead of merely managing or modifying behaviors, the program targets the deeper, more complex issues affecting teens’ lives.
In 2019, Paradigm expanded its offerings to include a residential program for young adults (ages 18-26). At the time, there were very few residential treatment options for this age group. Instead of treatment catering to this challenging time of growth development, the only options for young adults seeking treatment were programs that grouped young adults with individuals at various life stages, missing out on crucial peer-to-peer interactions and learning opportunities. Paradigm’s young adult residential treatment program is uniquely focused on the contemporary issues young people face as they transition from adolescence to adulthood.
We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year
