Situated on Orcas Island, this park features five lakes and several forested campgrounds. Kayak, bike, hike or horseback ride your way around the park. Complete the trip with a visit to Mount Constitution to view the expansive Northern Cascade Mountain Range.

Picnic and day use facilities

Two kitchen shelters without electricity and 55 picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The log-kitchen shelter at the Cascade Lake swim area can be reserved. The shelter includes a stone fireplace, wood grill, sink and electricity.

Camping

Four campgrounds offer 124 standard and six hiker/biker campsites. No electrical hookup sites available. Maximum site length is 45 feet with limited availability. There is one dump station, five restrooms and 10 showers.

Interpretive opportunities

Stop by the Summit Visitor Center for displays that focus on the geology and ecology of the San Juan Islands, Salish inhabitants and the Civilian Conservation Corps, as well as a gift shop operated by Friends of Moran volunteers. The observation tower at Mount Constitution tells the story of Robert Moran and the architecture of the iconic tower.

In the day-use area, there is a self-guided interpretive trail.

Souvenirs, ice cream, espresso and boat rentals

A visit to Moran is not complete without a stop for goodies at the Sugar Shack where you'll find a variety of beverages and snacks including homemade ice cream sandwiches and espresso. You'll also find souvenirs, beach gear, swimwear, towels and sunscreen. The Sugar Shack is located next to Cascade Lake.

Orcas Adventures offers SUP, kayak, paddle boat, canoe and row boat rentals. If you forgot your fishing gear or just want to give fishing a try, Orcas Adventures has you covered with that as well. Orcas Adventures is located next to Cascade Lake and has a second location renting boats and kayaks at Mountain Lake.

Firewood

Moran State Park is proud to have the first firewood vending machine located in Washington State Parks! Dancing Tree Farms offers bundles of locally sourced firewood from two locations in the park. Cash and cards accepted.

Glamping rentals

If you are looking for a different way to experience Moran State Park, consider a platform tent set up by LEANTO! Located in the South End Campground, LEANTO has five walk-in campsites with canvas wall tents pitched on cedar plank platforms. Most importantly, they’ve tricked-out those tents with some comfortable furnishings and equipment. Platform tent sites are available by reservation from June through Sept.
