Check out the demo to see if the Metroidvania is right for you.

I love the generosity of many indie developers. They really just want you to play their games. The latest in this trend of giving devs is Arcen Games, the team behind A Valley Without Wind. As of today, they've launched A Valley Without Wind 2, and are giving it away for free to anyone who purchased the first game.

Now, A Valley Without Wind wasn't terribly well-regarded when it released last year. The randomly generated Metroidvania was fairly clunky, had a convoluted crafting system, and was often way too hard. Arcen Games has taken the criticism to heart and redone the controls, physics, and added a whole new turn-based strategy mode to complement the platforming segments. It seems rather ambitious, and I hope they manage to pull it off.

For those who won't be getting AVWW2 for free, there's a big A Valley Without Wind 2 demo for you to check out. If it catches your interest, there's a bundle of both games on Steam, or you can grab it from the Arcen Games site. Anyone who bought AVWW1 can use their license key to on Steam download the sequel.
