Boards of Canada Mystery Continues With New Password Protected Website (original) (raw)

Warp released at least two mysterious Boards of Canada 12"s on April 20 (for Record Store Day), which began a spiral of detective work that is continuing to unwind. Following this weekend's 90-second Cartoon Network commercial comes Boards of Canada's most hacker-esque stunt yet, as FACT points out.

The Boards of Canada website is currently redirected to a primitive, password-protected site, http://cosecha-transmisiones.com/ (Cosecha might be the title of their new record). As FACT notes, if you view the page's source code, you get this code:

This seems to infer that the fifth missing puzzle piece in the previously uncovered number chain could be the password to the website:

699742 / 628315 / 717228 / 936557 / —— / 519225

However, FACT has discovered two different number sequences (556468 and 909389), but neither seems to work as the password. Nor does any other of the number sequences, or all of them together, as we have confirmed ourselves. (Ed: We also tried a ton of other potential passwords, including "boards", "canada", "warp", "twoism", etc.)
