The bug tracker page (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=105470&group_id=5470&func=browse) asks the user to login even when I'm already logged in, i.e. it has the text: Please log into SourceForge to submit a new report. where "log into SourceForge" is a red link to the login page. I've tried other projects on SourceForge, and they don't have this text, which makes me think it's project specific. That's why I'm reporting it here (though I can't find an appropriate category). Also, it's the fact that other projects don't have this that makes me consider this to be a bug - I went around in circles trying to log in successfully until I realized, by checking with other projects, that this message didn't mean I wasn't logged in. I suggest getting rid of it entirely, which is what I see other projects doing (though I can't claim that two or three projects is a representative sample). Alternatively, change the wording to read "If you don't see 'Submit New' above, then you're not logged into to SourceForge. You can login ." Thanks, Gary

Logged In: YES user_id=357491 That text is customizable by every project. It was added so as to remind people that they have to log in to submit. People were on a regular basis telling us they couldn't submit a bug and it turned out it was because they weren't logged in with an SF account.

Logged In: YES user_id=31435 I added more text to the Bug and Patch tracker blurbs. As Brett said, we added the text because of too much bad experience with people not understanding the need to be logged in.
