Shot this on 57th Street as the roughly 500 people who turned out for Stop the Hate, Stop the Guns made their way from Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue to Columbus Circle.
Poster party last night at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center to produce just some of the graphics for our July 18 protest at 5 PM at Trump Tower at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street.
Thanks to Kelly Savage, Donna Gould, Shep Wahnon, Akasha Tonia Barker, Alix Lacoste, Andy Humm, Larry Smith, and Sheri Clemons. We did not catch every name because some had to leave early so apologies to those folks who we have not mentioned here.
And a very special thanks to Kelly Savage for drawing the Trump hair on some of our posters!

STOP THE HATE. STOP THE GUNS. END THIS BLOODY NIGHTMARE.
We were honored to join Gays Against Guns in today’s Pride parade in Manhattan.
Kevin Hertzog and Brian Worth did an extraordinary job organizing a contingent that neared 1,000 people and securing a slot in the march well after the registration deadline thanks to Corey Johnson, the openly gay City Councilmember who represents Chelsea.
Clothing designer Mari Gustafson put together t-shirts and Tigger-James Ferguson organized 49 people in a powerful tribute to the 49 people who were killed in Pulse in Orlando on June 12.
And, of course, Gilbert Baker supplied the vibrant banners reading “Gays Against Guns” and “Republican Hate Kills.”

Vigil For Orlando at The Stonewall Inn
At least a thousand people turned out for our June 12 vigil outside the Stonewall Inn. We heard from our own Ken Kidd, Brandon Cordeiro, Jennifer Louise Lopez, and Ann Northrop among a number of speakers.
The crowd was angry at times, sorrowful at others, but mostly this was the community responding to Orlando in the way that we have responded to too many other tragedies – with solidarity and by coming together as one to say “We will not be silenced.”
Our hearts go out to the friends, family, and loved ones of the 50 LGBT brothers and sisters who were killed and to the more than 50 who were wounded.
We owe thanks to Alan Klein, Andrew Miller, Gilbert Baker, Alexis Danzig, Jamie Bauer, Andy Humm, Bill Bahlman, and Brian Worth for their help in organizing. And thanks to John Aravosis and Joe Jervis for the pictures
