Our dear friend and fellow skaldic editor, Kari Ellen Gade, passed away on 5 March 2022 after suffering from cancer for some months. We acknowledge here her unparalleled contribution to the skaldic edition and her immense knowledge of Old Norse-Icelandic poetry and philology. We will continue to carry on the skaldic project without her by first bringing to completion this year Volume V on Poetry in Sagas of Icelanders and then completing the remaining three volumes. We are very pleased to announce that, with Kari’s endorsement, Rob Fulk has agreed to take Kari’s place among the General Editors of the series. — The editors, 9 March 2022

Use the menu on the left (or the menu icon at the top on smaller devices) to browse the database; or use the search icon at the top to search for skalds, poems, manuscripts and other information. Searches are normally case- and accent-insensitive and can use the SQL wildcard characters ‘_’ (match any letter) and ‘%’ (match any number of letters). ‘Filter items’ functions are accent-sensitive. Lists are in modern Icelandic alphabetical order.
