[Lxde-list] Preparing for LXQt 0.8 release. | LXDE (original) (raw)

Hello, We have been quiet for some time, but the git repos are actually busy. Recently most of the important bugs marked as 0.8 milestones are cleared. Besides, pcmanfm-qt and lxqt-panel also got some serious polishing. So I think it's the right time to start the preparation of 0.8 release. Currently, the translation work is not officially started yet. Jerome and Brother, would you please help coordinate this part? After the translations are finished, I think we can have a release if no other serious bugs are found. There is one thing left, lxqt-config-randr. There were some weird bugs related to it and we don't know how to fix them. I even got random black screen by loading lxqt-config-randr on startup. It still needs more check. The current proposal is to replace it temporarily with the less feature-rich "lxrandr-qt" tool previously ported from lxde. P Lucus is working on improving lxrandr-qt and it's not renamed to lxqt-config-monitor. If there're no objections, we will merge this little xrandr frontend into lxqt-config. Later, if the problems in lxqt-config-randr can be solved, we can ship it again with the next lxqt release. Cheers! |
