Resident Evil 5 is finally out in stores across the country, but that doesn't mean we're through celebrating the series at IGN Stars. We've already brought you a handful of Hero Showdowns featuring some of the series leading heroes and villains, and now we turn to the two biggest heroes of them all.
Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy are undoubtedly the two biggest male icons in the series. Each has headlines multiple games. Each has faced down the worst Umbrella Corp. has to offer and come out alive. The only threats they haven't faced are each other.
Chris and Leon have never met within the games, so we're finally dragging them into the same spot to face off in the ultimate showdown. Only one can emerge as the true hero of Resident Evil. Which will you choose? Vote in our poll and let us know which side you're on in the comments section below.

When it comes to hunting zombies and other bio-engineered weapons of mass destruction, Chris Redfield is the first and last word. Literally.
He was there at the very beginning of the Resident Evil franchise, exploring the dank hallways of Spencer Mansion and fending off every foul creature in Umbrella's menagerie. And he's here now in the newest game, Resident Evil 5.
Umbrella's zombies have only grown more tenacious over the years. Luckily, Chris has gotten stronger himself. Have you seen the size of those guns? No, not the pistol, his massive man arms. We don't know if Chris is good friends with Barry Bonds, but we do know he easily qualifies as one of the most ripped heroes in all of gaming.
Top that, Leon. You skinny geek.
It's just like shooting zombies, but with more pending litigation.
RPG. The HS equivalent to a kidney punch...that explodes your kidneys and anything around them.
Leon may not have Chris' roided out muscles or his fancy STARS training, but he didn't need any of that to survive the horrors of Raccoon City in its final hours. Leon walked into Raccoon City with only his standard-issue police gear. He walked out of the city with a body count in the hundreds and a passel of women at his side.
These days, Leon still devotes all his time to ridding the world of the zombie menace. At this point his experience in such matters easily rivals that of Chris. Whether he's fighting to rescue the President's daughter, or just to save his own skin, Leon always saves the day and wins the girl. Unless you count Ada. But we're not.
You have big muscles, Chris. But are you manly enough for Leon S. Kennedy?
