Why we're decommissioning PublishMyData and where to get the data afterwards (original) (raw)
As part of ongoing work to improve and consolidate the digital products and services we offer, we are decommissioning PublishMyData.
This beta service, (an API served by a prototype data explorer interface that has allowed users to search for and query ONS datasets) has reached the end of its service.
Links to original data
Datasets have been hosted from a range of ONS initiatives including ONS Geography, Explore Local Statistics, Climate Change and Trade portals. The data will remain available from their original sources and we have provided the links below.
Key dates
We are taking a phased approach to the retirement of PublishMyData:
- From 10th February 2025, no new datasets are being uploaded to the site.
- From 18th February 2025, a banner has been added to inform users of the upcoming retirement.
- From 3rd March 2025, a period of continuous service outage will begin where the service will become unavailable.
- The service will be fully decommissioned on 31st March 2025.
Why we're decommissioning
Retiring this API is part of a larger suite of work to improve our API services. A new Data API is being developed by our teams to better meet the needs of our users.
