The Australian football match between Mel

Bears at Carrara Oval, Mahoney was switched to
defence and was named among the best players.
He then held that position for his final four or
five games of the season.
Now 20, Mahoney is 189cm and 85kg. He
played as a ruckman or key forward with the
Eagles and was noted for his solid high marking
and long, accurate kicking for goal.
A former Marist College junior, he was East
lake's best first year player in 1987 and also
represented with the ACTAFL Colts.
