Owing to the fact that the time for lodging
applications for permits closes for this season
on Friday a large list confronted members of the
permit and umpire committee of the League
last night. Among players transferred were B.
Dermody, from Cohuna to St. Kilda; T. Dunne,
from Carlton to North Melbourne L Gough,
Hawthorn to Prahran E. Baker Geelong to Col-
lingwood and Rodwell, Oakleigh to Footscray.
The chairman (Mr. S. W. Ramsay) referred to
the case of A. Downs (a brother of T. Downs,
of Carlton) who last week sought a transfer from
the Collingwood seconds to Collingwood. He
stated that Downs had played with Northcote in
1926 and Preston in 1927, but had relinquished

A number of charges were heard by the Metropoli-
