Owing to the fact that the time for lodging

applications for permits closes for this season

on Friday a large list confronted members of the

permit and umpire committee of the League

last night. Among players transferred were B.

Dermody, from Cohuna to St. Kilda; T. Dunne,

from Carlton to North Melbourne L Gough,

Hawthorn to Prahran E. Baker Geelong to Col-

lingwood and Rodwell, Oakleigh to Footscray.

The chairman (Mr. S. W. Ramsay) referred to

the case of A. Downs (a brother of T. Downs,

of Carlton) who last week sought a transfer from

the Collingwood seconds to Collingwood. He

stated that Downs had played with Northcote in

1926 and Preston in 1927, but had relinquished
