Lord British has officially announced, through Lady MOI, a tombstone memorial in honor of our departed friend, Lord Brinne. The letter will remain online, and you may continue to sign it if you wish. God bless all of you who helped us achieve this amazing acomplishment for a dear friend.

On this 21st day of the month of June, in the year 1999

To His Majesty, Lord British:

Today marks a sad day in the lives of Britannians everywhere. The ranks of your loyal followers have been thinned by one soul. Our noble Paladin, bearer of the Holy Dragon 24 Shield has passed from this world, and he leaves with us wonderful memories of his time amongst your people. His mind was sharp, his wit quick, and his temper even. He truly exemplified the eight virtues of the land and was considered by many to be the best man amongst us. He will be sorely missed.

It is with our dear friend's departure that we, your loyal subjects, do hereby request a single memorial to be erected upon the soil of fair Britannia, dedicated to that noble fellow who brightened the lives of those he touched. A memorial dedicated to what Lord Brinne meant to us all.

*** A memorial of Honor, for surely he was a righteous paladin.** *** A memorial of Honesty, for he was the embodiment of truth.** *** A memorial of Compassion, as his heart was open to all who sought him out.** *** A memorial of Valor, for he faced death without fear, and was a bastion in defense of the land.** *** A memorial of Sacrifice, for he gave selflessly of himself and his knowledge to all those in need.** *** A memorial of Justice, his even-hand often guided us away from disaster and into the light.** *** A memorial of Spirituality, for wisdom sat upon his brow.** *** A memorial of Humility, for in all things good, Lord Brinne never placed himself above the crowd.**

We leave it your grace to grant our humble request, for no eye shall remain dry when we are blessed with the opportunity to visit the tomb of the noble Paladin. Our hearts and hopes go with thee.

Dear Richard Garriott and the entire U:IX development team,

On behalf of the friends of Bill Iburg (a.k.a. Lord Brinne), the Ultima Horizons Message Board, and the Ultima Community in general, we respectfully request a small gesture in memory of our companion. A simple tombstone erected in the graveyard of Yew where we may place flowers in honor of our friend, or some other memorial of your choosing would be appreciated beyond measure. We sincerely hope you can find it in your heart to honor a dear friend, and a loyal Avatar.
