"Originally published in 1981 as a parallel edition in English and Lao by Prospect Books Limited, London. (This present edition is substantially the same as the first, but the facsimile copies of Phia Sing's original recipes, written in Lao script, have been omitted. An example is given on page 177.)"--Title-page verso

"The picture on the front cover and about 90 of the 99 drawings in the book are by the Lao artist Thao Soun Vannithone. The remaining 9 or so drawings, slightly modified where appropriate are by two other artists from Laos, Elian Bleton Souvannavong and Thao Singha. Their contributions have not been identified separately, because all three artists worked together in Vientiane and cannot now recall with certainty in every instance who did which drawing."
