Lecture 1 (1:00pm to 2:00pm)

**“Is Psychic Ability Something You Are Born With Or Something That Can Be Developed?”

**Sean Mulligan

Psychological Resilience Researcher & Novice Mystic, Sydney, NSW

Sean Mulligan will discuss a wide range of anomalous experiences that occurred over a two-year period, including telepathic contact, channelling, mediumship, attack from negative entities, interaction with positive entities, repeatable visual experiences, and astral contacts. Sean draws on parapsychological and esoteric concepts to provide a framework for the experiential facts, and he explains how and why these events occur. Sean also outlines how such experiences can fundamentally and permanently increase baseline well-being and psychological resilience.

Lecture 2 (2:00pm to 3:00pm)

“The Enigma of Precognition”

**Professor Emeritus Richard Silberstein

Neuroscientist, Researcher, Melbourne, VIC.

A 2011 paper published by Daryl Bem, a professor at Cornell University created a firestorm of controversy by reporting experimental results showing that humans can predict the occurrence of completely random events at better than chance level. According to our understanding of the laws of physics, this should be impossible. In this talk, Richard Silberstein briefly reviews the most common model proposed for precognition before discussing a precognition model suggested by neuroscience findings. Furthermore, he will suggest that consciousness, defined in the broadest terms, determines the nature of future events.

“Psychedelic Psychotherapy“

Dr. Monika Goretzki

Registered Psychologist. Northern Rivers, NSW

Psychoactive substances occur throughout the natural world and have been used by various indigenous cultures for thousands of years for healing, learning and divination. In the mid-1900s, psychiatric research utilizing psychedelics in psychotherapy provided favourable results for treatment resistant conditions. However, this research ended when many of these substances were scheduled as class 1 drugs. Monika Goretzki’s presentation discusses the history and resurgence of the therapeutic use of psychedelics.

12:00 PM – 1:15 PM AEST – Messages Through the Veil: The Nature of Truth

Boris Walter – Masters in Counselling & Psychotherapy (WA)

This topic and journey of exploration will be all about the deep trance/hypnotic state of mind (resting ego). Under hypnosis, many clients develop and embody an alternate persona featuring a change in linguistic style of speech, a change in demeanour of an all-knowing being, and the acquisition of knowledge beyond their physical experience. There is an overarching theme of love, support, and wisdom; there are messages and advice about who we are and why we are here on Earth; there are emotional descriptions about other time-lines and past lives; and most importantly, clients seem to know exactly what they need at that moment and how to heal.

1:45 PM – 3:00 PM AEST – Exploring the Visual Content of Consciousness

Dr. Debra Lynn Katz – Ph.D. in Psychology; Masters in Social Work; Remote-Viewer, Clairvoyant, Medium, & Educator (USA)

Prophets throughout the ages have described cryptic visions that both intrigue and frighten us. Visual imagery is an important aspect of all psi modalities, those that are intentional and spontaneous. In this presentation, Dr. Katz takes a deep dive into imagery within intentional remote viewing, clairvoyant, and mediumship sessions vs. spontaneous psi experiences. A classification system of such imagery will be presented.

Lectures on Automatic Writing, Retrocausation, the Entropic Brain, & Paranormal Metal-Bending

Joyce BokChaired by Ms. Joyce Bok

Psychologist , Perth , Western Australia

* * *

Mini-Conference Program

Lecture 1 (1:00pm to 2:00pm)

“Automatic Writing”

Tom Ware

Toastmaster & Automatic Writer, Sydney, NSW

Tom Ware will start with a true story about this life, and deal mainly with Automatic Writing. It took Tom 20 years to pluck up the courage to tell this story. Tom will cover the development of his Automatic Writing ability, and he’ll explain how others can develop it. Tom will also describe some of his experiences with Vipassana Meditation, which Tom has practiced for 36 years.

Lecture 2 (2:00pm to 3:00pm)

“Investigations into Retrocausal Effects in a Cueing Task”

Dr. Jordan Wehrman

Psychologist, Researcher, Sydney, NSW

Retrocausation is the idea that the future can affect the present. Rather than studying for an exam, and then getting a good grade, imagine sitting an exam, studying afterwards, and getting a better grade because of it. Jordan Wehrman will discuss nine experiments on cueing after a response has been made. Two of the experiments showed a small, but significant, effect of future cueing on current performance. Jordan will also give a broad overview of the cognitive neuroscience tools he uses, and describe how they may be used in future to better parameterise retrocausal effects.

Lecture 3 (3:30pm to 4:30pm)

“The Entropic Brain”

Dr. Vladimir Dubaj & Cherie Dupont

Paranormal Investigators, Melbourne, VIC.

Vladimir DubajHighly entropic (disordered) brain states result in more dynamic connections between brain regions that can lead to creativity, spiritually meaningful insights, and paranormal experience. Hence, an overlap is likely between entropic states and mediumship experiences. Vlad Dubaj is interested in how this theory might suggest purposeful ways of changing brain activity to induce more creativity and meaningful experience. Cherie Dupont will speak on the ‘loose mind’—the conscious state needed for mediumship and psychic experiences. She will conduct a brief meditation session on mindfulness.

Workshop (4:30pm to 5:30pm)

“Paranormal Metal-Bending”

Robb Tilley

Paranormal Researcher, Investigator, & Clearer, Sydney, NSW

Robb Tilley will host this psychokinetic metal-bending (PKMB) workshop. The audience will get hands-on PKMB experience bending steel spoons and forks. Make your own psychic souvenir using only your mind and PK energy. Stainless steel spoons and forks will be provided for this mind over matter experiment.

Psychic Phenomena and the Brain: Exploring the Neuropsychology of Psi

Bryan J. Williams

Monograph No. 3 in the AIPR Monograph Series in Parapsychology

Dr. Lance Storm, Editor

“Psychic phenomena such as extrasensory perception (ESP) and psychokinesis (‘mind over matter’) have been reportedly experienced by people from all walks o_f_ life. But are these phenomena real? And how could they possibly fit into our knowledge of the human brain? In this monograph, Bryan Williams examines some of the latest findings to emerge from efforts that parapsychologists have made to explore how psychic phenomena may be linked to brain functioning. Although they do not yet lead to a fully working theory, these initial findings do point to possible brain correlates that could be a focus for further study using advanced brain wave monitoring and functional neuroimaging techniques.” Bryan J. Williams, Research Affiliate, Psychical Research Foundation, Carrollton, Texas, USA.

Bryan Williams is an affiliate with the Psychical Research Foundation. He was a co-recipient of the 2008 Eileen J. Garrett Scholarship Award offered by the Parapsychology Foundation in New York.

Education in Parapsychology: Student and Instructor Perspectives

Harvey J. Irwin

Monograph No. 2 in the AIPR Monograph Series in Parapsychology

Dr. Lance Storm and Dr. Adam J. Rock, Editors

“This monograph addresses the provision of educational experiences in the field of parapsychology and is designed to meet the needs of both students and instructors. Part 1 of the monograph discusses issues of primary importance to the person who would like to study parapsychology. Topics examined here include motives and misconceptions about parapsychology; and unrealistic expectations and potential benefits of studying parapsychology. Part 2 looks at teaching a course in parapsychology, including the design of a balanced curriculum that maintains critical standards while still accommodating the wide range of students’ interests. The future of the discipline of parapsychology depends on the quality of its educational programs. Accordingly, this monograph, by drawing on many of my own successes and failures in teaching parapsychology, will help to enrich the educational experiences of both parapsychology instructors and parapsychology students.” Harvey J. Irwin, PhD, Adjunct Research Fellow, University of New England, Armidale, NSW, Australia

Professor Harvey J. Irwin is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Behavioural, Cognitive, and Social Sciences, University of New England, where he conducts research on the psychology of parapsychology.

Introducing David Morehouse, Richard Silberstein, Callum Cooper , and Samantha Lee Treasure

* * *

Presentations:

12:00 PM – 1:15 PM (AEST) – Journey into Consciousness (Remote Viewing)

Dr. David Morehouse – Author, Educator, and former U.S. Army Special Operations Officer, Company and Battalion Commander and Remote Viewer for the CIA

This is a presentation about human transformation. Nearly forty years ago, David trained a battalion of Jordanian Rangers in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. David was a killer elite, a U.S. Army Ranger Company Commander, a man whose life seemed on purpose; a military career assured. This destiny vanished in an instant when a Jordanian machine-gun bullet struck his helmet, knocking him unconscious. What followed recast the azimuth of his life, setting into motion a journey through darkness to an awakening, an epiphany of science and spirit motivating a metamorphosis of his life’s purpose and calling. His story is a journey into consciousness with perspectives on quantum physics and quantum mind, the moment, Remote Viewing, and more; all presented with the intention of inspiring a deeper understanding of individual and collective human promise and potential.

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM (AEST) – Twins, Telepathy and the Brain

Professor Emeritus Richard Silberstein – Director of Neuro-Insight, Melbourne, Australia

Richard will describe findings from a recent Melbourne study undertaken to examine changes in brain Functional Connectivity (FC) associated with possible anomalous interactions between sensorily isolated identical (monozygotic) twins. Five sets of female twins served as participants where one twin (‘sender’) passively viewed 100 images presented at random successive intervals while their sister (‘receiver’) viewed a static image in another room. It was hypothesized that if the twins were to demonstrate anomalous interactions, then the ‘receiver’ FC will exhibit statistically significant changes only when their FC estimates are based on the ‘sender’ image appearance times. It was observed that FC changes were consistent with the hypothesis in 11 of the 38 recording sessions. The significance of the findings as well as the problems encountered will be discussed.

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM (AEST) – Phone Calls from the Dead?

Dr. Callum Cooper – Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Northampton, UK

This presentation shall discuss the phenomenon of ‘anomalous telecommunication contacts’. Often, these contacts have been associated with After-Death Communication experiences, where reports occur of deceased individuals allegedly making contact. However, unusual reports of calls from living individuals and perceived ‘extra-terrestrials’ have been documented too. Cases shall be presented, research methods, controversies and theories.

4:15 PM – 5:15 PM Shifting to Hogwarts: Astral Projection, the Next Generation

Samantha Lee Treasure – MA in Medical Anthropology from SOAS University of London, based in UK and Korea

Over the pandemic, a practice known as “shifting” or “shifting realities” became popular on social media. Incorporating the themes of law of attraction, multiverse and parasocial relationships, the main aims of this practice were to (a) shift into a parallel life, and (b) enter fictional worlds and encounter their favourite comfort characters. Astral projection became the tool of choice to achieve both, with out-of-body and incubation techniques disseminated to millions of Generation Z’s under lockdown. This talk will discuss this rise of shifting and its differences and similarities with the astral projection practices of Millennials and other generations.
