City of Alameda Economic Development is partnering with the East Bay Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Alameda Chamber & Economic Alliance to provide no-cost, one-on-one business counseling. Take your business to the next level with in-person advising sessions to help your Alameda businesses start, grow and thrive.
Appointments are held on the first & third Tuesday of the month starting January 7, 2025, through June 17, 2025. Appointments are available from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm (45 minute appointments) and are held at the Alameda Chamber & Economic Alliance office located at 2215 A South Shore Center.
Services are offered to Alameda businesses in all stages, including those just staring up as well as existing businesses that are growing or in transition. SBDC advisors work with businesses in planning, funding, start-up, marketing, finances, management, growing a business and selling a business. They also have specialized consultants in the areas of tech, international trade, government contracting and manufacturing.
In addition to one-on-one consulting, the SBDC will also be offering business workshops to be tailored to the needs of the Alameda business community.

Leadership Alameda
Leadership Alameda introduces an annual class of future leaders to major facets of the community through an informative and interactive, professional development program. Participants partake in educational sessions, tours, and conversations with community leaders in various industries. Enrollment is open in June every year with classes beginning in September.
Alameda Women Leaders Group
At AWL, we are a networking group that welcomes women from all backgrounds and experience levels. We want to share in the struggles, challenges, and successes of one another. The environment is one of mutual respect and support and we invite everyone to have a "seat at the table." The group meets quarterly with a speaker on an issue important to women.
Learning Events
Professional development is a key pilar in the Chamber’s strategic plan. Twice a month,we bring in speakers on topics that are pertinent to our business members. Our Lunch & Learn are part of our premier educational program offerings helping attendees gain new skill sets and a practical application for implementation in their own business hours.

Our collaboration with elected representatives yields insights into their positions on crucial matters for our members. We organize candidate night events for members to engage with and understand the candidates’ visions and stances on topics that are critical to our members and Alameda's future.
