I have been interested in investing for a long time. I decided to take a look at this book for some tips. He not only gives you GREAT advice, he is absolutely hilarious and makes the book entertaining while learning how to save money and invest wisely. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking to invest and actually make more money. The author is very knowledgeable and blunt about what to do with your money and budget. He breaks it down in layman terms for people who aren't educated in the area of investment. I learned so much and have started to invest and am truly making more money.

Fantastic book! While his wrestling character could easily be hated, the advice and story written in the book I loved. The book contains smart financial advice along with stories backing up his conclusions which made it the most enjoyable financial advice/pro wrestling book I have ever read. It may be the only financial advice/pro wrestling book I have ever read, it is still great and also one of the better financial advice books I have read. There are no secret revelations in this book to make you rich but it gives you common sense strategies to tackle your budgeting. Great, easy read!

I found this book by accident but found it a worthwhile read. Unlike many other financial books, this one was every entertaining and an easy read. He lays down solid money principles for now and the future. I also enjoyed his attitude towards money which could best be described as “balanced.” Some financial gurus are all about the future and recommend strategies that are great in the long term but are miserable now. This book is certainly different in that aspect. My biggest criticism is I felt like he focused too much on the details of investing and too little on other aspects of the financial puzzle. All in all, it was money well spent and has helped me in my financial life.

This is a great auto-biography mixed with some common sense investing advice. Layfield has a good-humored style and doesn't write more than is needed. You won't find many uninteresting rabbit trails that you find from some books in this genre. Layfield is not unlike other NFL hopefuls that played semi-pro football, washed out, and pursued a wrestling career. This is probably the best auto-biography I've read about a WWE wrestler. His humor and concise style make this book a worthwhile read.

This book is practical. The man may be a Pro Wrestler, which you may or may not look down upon (even more so after reading some of the other reviews here!), but he has much Common Sense advice to offer here.
Mr. Layfield's advice is simple: be prepared for the future, but not at the expense of the enjoyment of life in the present. In other words, save for the future, but have some fun now, as you may not be here tomorrow!
This book will NOT make you rich overnight, but it will give you some good ideas for planning out your future. It's also very entertaining if you happen to be interested in wrestling in addition to money management!
I use his ideas about "Pricing Perfection" when I lecture to adult learning about planning for the future. This book has been very valuable to me!

The essential problem with this book is that the world of professional wrestling is very colorful and interesting, while finance is not. Layfield makes great attempts to bridge the chasm, but his wrestling stories are consistently the most entertaining part of the story and the finance the most consistently boring. I would welcome a book on just his wrestling experiences and a separate, more focused guide on finance. This book tries to be two things and cannot quite accomplish it. He also repeats his analogies a bit too much, making the book repetitive. Is there good advice to be found? Absolutely. Several quotes from this book have really stuck with me. But still, too much repetition.

There are some books that it doesn't really matter when they were written & this is one of them. John "Bradshaw" Layfield gives some excellent advice for everyday people. He has great stories & takes a practical approach to money issues. The fact that he started with nothing was very influential in me buying it in the first place. He's been where a lot of us have been and may be now; he's not just a talking head who has no idea what it's like to be broke or wonder where the next meal is coming from.

This book is not about having money NOW. The title is misleading. The book is more focused on long term investment, with a minimum of 5 years in mind, I think. Be vigilant on the math and formulas because there's a part about PEG's that I think is wrong. I mean he has the formula right but then he does something against what he already said. It's a pretty quick read, I finished it in two days. The way he mixes in real life stories and ties them into finance is interesting at least. It's not a boring read thanks to that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read 'Have More Money Now'...and you will!

The blurb on the back of the book begins with "Just what does this WWE Superstar know about the world of finance?" I found myself asking the same question.
Well on reading, I found that this was one of those books that was hard to put down. Very hard in fact. The book reads almost like an autobiography of 'Bradshaw's' football and later wrestling career, in which he applies lesson's that he's learned through life to bettering himself, and planning for the future. He then passes on these lessons to the reader.
Indispersed with photographs, (including a rather amusing one, complete with story), of him wrestling an 800lb brown bear, the book does not bore with pages of financial mumbo jumbo. Instead, it becomes a thoroughly entertaining and engrossing read. What he says makes a lot of sense.
It does not approach the subject of having more money from a "Get rich overnight" angle. Instead, it details in simple and easy to understand terms, how to plan for your tomorrow, but enjoy your today. A nice fact is, that it's been written by a guy who has been there, has been down to his last $27, has picked himself up, and faced the future head on, becoming very successful. As 'Bradshaw' states, "Life is for living. Don't just exist...live!" The book details how to look at your expenditure, cut back on unnecessary luxuries, get your debts down, and then build for your future. Investment advice is included, explaining the differences between different types of investment, shares, stocks, bonds etc, and also about how Bradshaw lost weight (a part I'll be paying particular attention to!)
The message is, you can look after number one, without being selfish. Just don't be somebody else's doormat.
In conclusion, this book is well worth the money, (I'm not just saying that because I'm a Bradshaw fan!), and a very engrossing, entertaining and informative read.
I think Bradshaw says it best.
"You can spend all your time griping about the past, talking about opportunities missed, or you can spend it planning a better future".
Buy this book....it won't disappoint.

A good read - the book goes between John's money saving rules and his career - I preferred the career part more than most of the money stuff myself. A shame he didn't write a full biography on his career.

I've owned this book for a while and finally got around to reading it.
The financial advice book I read before it was The Motley Fool: You Have More Money Than You Think, and I'm glad I read that one first. It's the better book of the two, with a lot of the same information. The Motley Fool book has humour as does this one, but overall I found more information in The Motley Fool, and better written.
If you're a wrestling (or just a John Layfield) fan, you'll likely enjoy the stories he's included, as I did. However, I found it extremely repetitive in parts. He must've mentioned at least 20x in the first couple of chapters about how he hit a crossroads with only $27 in his pocket.
It's not a bad read or bad financial advice. It's very simple, straight-forward, and sound. I just think there are better offerings out there. I would give The Motley Fool: You Have More Money Than You Think 5 stars compared to Have More Money Now's rating of 3 stars that I've given it.
If you're buying it for the stories and entertainment value, than by all means get a copy. If you're looking for financial advice, you won't be disappointed either, but there are better easy-to-read books offering similar advice.
