I was on the fence about Icona Pop's EP release (Iconic EP) but this album is very good! I feel like it has a good mix of very upbeat, high energy tracks like 'I Love It` (included on this album as well as the EP) and some more 'mature' songs as well. If you liked the EP you will love the album, if you thought the EP was ok, give this a shot and you might be pleasantly surprised.

I first saw them on New Years Eve and I haven't stopped listening to them. They blend there voices seamlessly and beautifully. Plus they remind me of the early 80's punk bands, Back when punk was good and you could still understand the lyrics, I just love there music with songs like All Night, I Love it and Just an Another Night. There music is exultant.

You would have had to have been living under a rock buried under sand in different galaxy to have not heard the song of the summer, Icona Pop's "I Love It." It was everywhere and like it or not is going to be the standard by which people judge this album. Well did Swedith duo, Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, manage to put out an album full of more "I Love It"s? No. But that doesn't mean plenty of songs don't make a very good attempt.
Many people are already buzzing about album closer "Then We Kiss" as being the next big hit, but it lacks the aggression that made "I Love It" standout for me. "In the Stars" though has a euro pop edge with a bombastic chorus which I think makes it possibly even better than "I Love It." "Just Another Night" though is probably my favorite with its more melancholic tone and allows the girls to shine individually on the verses allowing glimpses of needed rawness in a very slick polished soundscape. "Girlfriend" borrows two lines from Tupac's "Me and My Girlfriend" and twists them into a totally new meaning. Big risk for a big payoff.
Caroline and Aino got together about four years ago, and rumor has it that the very night they first met at a party was when they decided they were going to make music together. This clear chemistry and almost familial blending of voices is the thread that holds this album together. When it's right--it's very very right. And then at other times, you wish they just let loose a little bit which would have given the songs a needed hit of emotion.
This album is not going to blow your mind, but it will occupy your mind for a long while after the music has actually stopped playing from your speakers. Very solid pop/dance music from two fantastic vocalists.
For fans of bands like The Ting Tings, Florrie, Charli XCX, Natalia Kills, Marina & The Diamonds.

"This is...Icona Pop" can be summed up in three words: fun, energetic, and engaging. A sweet blend of dance, house, and punk come together to concoct musical ecstasy.
Do yourself a favor and buy this album. It's best listened to slightly drunk and in a room full of disco balls and pink laser lights.

I really love the Icona Pop EP, but the "This Is" album just isn't as good. I rehashes some great stuff from the EP but the new material isn't as strong. The electronica is in the background and not as significant as on the previous EP. The sound on the EP is so layered and immense with plenty of classical music elements to really grab me. I would buy the artist again, because I know they are capable of great music. This album is just ok to me. If you don't have the EP, this is a great purchase as it has most of the music from the EP, but it is missing some.

This is a nice feel good cd. Perfect for summer days and cruising around in the summer. I only wish there were more tracks on this cd, but quality over quantity.

Es un disco con unas canciones muy divertidas, las letras no son gran cosa, pero el enfoque de estas artistas es música para pasarlo bien.

I decided to buy this album last month because I bought tickets to see Katy Perry live in concert and I knew Icona Pop was the support act, so I wanted to learn the lyrics and see if I liked them. Yes I did. The album is amazing full of dance songs and a few ballads which are really good. I seen Icona pop Saturday just passed in Glasgow on Katy's tour and they were AMAZING live, sounded just like the cd and they did about 6 songs from this album including my favourite Icona Pop song 'All Night' if you liked their song 'I Love It' you really enjoy this album!
