APSCO Co-Organized the Third Workshop on International Lunar Research Station ILRS (original) (raw)

The Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO), in collaboration with the Lunar Exploration and Space Engineering Centre of the China National Space Administration (CNSA), and Deep Space Exploration Laboratory co-organized the Third Workshop on International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) during 4-7 September, 2024 in Huangshan, China.

More than 50 invited experts and scholars from space agencies, research institutes, universities and experts from scientific and engineering field of APSCO Working Group for Joint Study on ILRS, participated in the workshop. The workshop was organized back-to-back with the second Tiandu Forum (the Second International Deep Space Exploration Conference).

The workshop focused on the APSCO-CNSA Joint Study on ILRS and was held on 4 September. APSCO welcomed all the participants to the workshop during the opening ceremony. Dr. Tian Yulong, Strategy Consultant of APSCO also made remarks during the opening ceremony. He emphasized that the ILRS will not only provide a precious platform for space science and technology cooperation, but will also drive space technology education cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region. Moreover, the ILRS will foster scientific literacy among youth. He also encouraged all experts to be actively involved in ILRS under APSCO platform.

Discussion on multi-regional engagement of ILRS

Invited experts made presentations on topics related to the deep space exploration in the morning session. Discussion on multi-regional engagement of ILRS was carried out in the afternoon. Participants also engaged in the four subforum of second Tiandu Forum and actively exchanged their experiences on cutting-edge technologies, research achievements, contemporary hot topics, international major projects, and international cooperation in deep space exploration field.
