A MESSAGE

From Our CEO

Welcome to Arms Acres! If you are coming in to Arms Acres, I would like to say “welcome”! If you are visiting our website, I would like to say, “thank you”.

Making a decision for treatment is not easy. However, with hard work and dedication to your health first, your journey to recovery can begin. We at Arms Acres are passionate about what we do. The staff is dedicated to providing services to you and your family. We are constantly looking at new approaches that will keep us on the cutting edge of Behavioral Health Care issues.

Once you have completed treatment, we hope to see you return in the future to participate in our very successful Alkathon Program, which occurs monthly. Alkathon is where our Arms Acres recovering Alumni return to share their experience, strength and hope with individuals who are sitting in the same seats they once occupied.

Again, I say welcome and may your stay with us help you to prepare for the journey that lies ahead.Patrice Wallace-Moore, LCSWRCEO, Arms Acres, Inc.VP of Substance Abuse Services, Liberty Management, Inc.

Services

A Tranquil Facility

Arms Acres is a 191 bed licensed facility, providing inpatient treatment for those suffering from addiction to alcohol or drugs. We are situated on a tranquil 54-acre site in Putnam County, New York (90 miles north of New York City).

Winifred Arms and her husband, Robert, dedicated their lives to helping those suffering from chemical dependency. As the story goes, Mr. Arms, a recovering alcoholic himself, was known to bring suffering addicts into his home in the Berkshires.

Ironically, Robert Arms was killed by a drunk driver in 1971. In the years following his death, Winifred continued their dedication to the cause of helping alcoholics into recovery. She opened the doors of Arms Acres in March, 1982. Mrs. Arms died in 1995.
