Artist Austine Wood Comarow (1942-2020),
developed the medium she called “Polage” in 1967.

Her paintbox is literally the rainbow.

She created art using Polarizing filters and clear birefringent materials to collage vibrant, dynamic images in the colors of light.

Austine’s studio continues her 50+ year legacy of Polage art into the next generation, led by her daughters Cara Ginder and Erika Wood.
