Obverse: Angels and cherubins. Arms. Bank seal depicting a head of Medusa. Reverse: Allegorical man and women: Industry, Credit and Commerce & Agriculture with their classic attributes. Cherubins, vases, porticos, pedestals and ornamental designs. Head of "Italia" in profile. Remark: This banknote's frames design was inspired by the grotesques of Pompeii. Watermark: BANCA D'ITALIA; Head of Italia allegory; LIRE 1000. Main colours: Violet, orange-brown and brown. Artist: Rinaldo Barbetti, Inv. Engraving: Ernesto Ballarini.
