Cornaro Family (original) (raw)
The Cornaro family was among the founding families of Venice, and the names of various Cornaros are found at intervals through the early records.
The earliest member of the family from whom a direct descent has been established is Andrea Cornaro, born 1215. There are more than 1500 identified descendants of Andrea Cornaro in male lines.
The following chart shows the relationship of the two principal branches discussed in this essay -- the della Regina branch and the Piscopia branch -- and the three separate lines of the della Regina branch: the S. Maurizio line, the S. Polo line and the S. Cassiano line.
