Accreditation Standards are periodically revised to reflect the dynamic, changing environment of medical transport with considerable input from all disciplines of the medical profession and serve as a marker of excellence for federal, state, and local governmental agencies, as well as private agencies and to the general public.

Mobile Integrated Healthcare

MIH Standards

Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH)/Community Paramedicine (CP) is a relatively new and expanding field of healthcare focused on providing primary and preventive care to underserved populations. The goals include increasing access to care; improving health and well-being; and reducing hospital admissions, readmissions, emergency room visits, and costs. Care providers come from any area of health care, but most MIH services use paramedics in expanded roles caring for clients in nonemergency situations in their homes or other locations. MIH varies and can be as simple as checking on patients with chronic illnesses, to at home testing and interventions, and “hospital at home.” CAMTS is proud to offer the first national accreditation standards and accreditation process for MIH programs.
