We’re here to strengthen the fabric of Canada through the power of sport. We’re here to elevate the best of our nation and inspire the best in our future generations. We’re here to spark greatness.
The Canada Games brings together more than 2,000 able-bodied athletes and athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities for the largest amateur multi-sport event in the country. Alternating between winter and summer, they span over 30 different sports to showcase the very best in Canadian sport and spirit.
The Games are held under the stewardship of the Canada Games Council who provide continuity, leadership and support. We’re here to foster ongoing partnerships and ensure the Games leave an enduring legacy on communities from coast to coast to coast.

The Canada Games Council is thrilled to announce the election of Canadian sport legend Catriona Le May Doan as Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors. Joining Le May Doan in officer positions are Vice-Chair Sean O’Donnell, Treasurer Sheri Somerville and Secretary Lyn Radford.

2025 Canada Games ABORIGINAL APPRENTICE COACHING PROGRAM
The Canada Games Council, together with the Aboriginal Sport Circle and the Coaches Association of Canada, is pleased to announce the participants selected for the 2025 Aboriginal Apprentice Coach Program. The Program offers each province and territory an opportunity to send two apprentice coaches of First Nations, Metis, or Inuit ancestry to the Canada Games.

Computers for Success - Canada Inc. Becomes Multi-Games Partner
Inspired by the collaboration at the local level in Newfoundland & Labrador, the CGC and CFSC are embarking on a national multi-Games partnership, extending the collaboration through the Canada Games in 2027, 2029 and 2031. The long-term relationship is focused on the partners’ shared objectives of enhancing circularity and reducing waste in the planning and execution of the Canada Games.
