Is le gach duine an Ghaeilge, is le gach pobal Seachtain na Gaeilge. Seachtain na Gaeilge is an international Irish language festival and one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture that takes place each year in Ireland and in many other countries. The festival gives an opportunity to everyone to enjoy Irish, whether you are a fluent speaker, learner or have a cúpla focal, with a calendar of entertaining and fun events for every type of interest and every age group.

Scoláireacht 2026 - Scholarships 2026

Tá an t-ócáid scoláireachta i mbliana maoinithe ag Comhairle Chontae an Chabháin agus ag Coláiste Sheosaimh, Conamara, agus á riar ag Seirbhísí Leabharlainne an Chabháin. Soláthraíonn an scéim maoiniú chun tacú le ceathrar daltaí meánscoile freastal ar chúrsa trí seachtaine i rith an tsamhraidh seo. Irish Cancer Society Roadshow

Your Health Matter Roadshow with the Irish Cancer Society. Cavan Library Service, through the Healthy Ireland at Your Library initiative, is delighted to welcome the Irish Cancer Society’s Your Health Matters Roadshow to Cavan for the first time. The Roadshow will take place in Johnston Central Library on Wednesday, 4th February, (World Cancer Day 2026) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bank Holiday Closure

All libraries in Cavan will be closed on Saturday 31st January and Monday 2nd February. Services will resume as normal from 10am Tuesday 3rd February. You can access your library account and online library 24/7 with your library card number and PIN. Lá Fhéile Bríde shona daoibh!

Perpetual Shield presented at Cootehill Library

Cootehill Library hosted a Chess Tournament last welcoming over 40 children to take part in this annual event. Winner over all & winner of the Cootehill Library Perpetual Shield was Casey Foy! Congratualtion to all who took part in this fantastic event.
