We have the answers.
Got a question about apprenticeships, traineeships, courses, or business support? Find the answers to our frequently asked questions here.
How long is an apprenticeship or traineeship?
Apprenticeships are typically 4 years, while traineeships are generally 1-2 years, depending on the qualification. There is also the potential for early completion if you complete your formal training early.
Do I get paid while completing an apprenticeship or traineeship?
Yes, apprenticeships and traineeships are paid employment positions. As a Zeal Futures employee, we’ll pay you weekly based on the relevant industry Award. Some of our host employers also agree to pay apprentices and trainees at above-Award rates.
Will I get time at work to complete my qualification?
Yes. As an apprentice, you will usually be allocated one day per week, or a block release period, where you will attend your RTO for training.
For traineeships, you are typically allocated 3 hours per week to complete your studies at work. Scheduling this can be discussed with your Zeal Futures Workforce Solutions Specialist and your host supervisor.
How do I know if I’m eligible for a funded course?
There are a number of NSW Government funding options that allow us partly or fully subsidise course fees for eligible students. You can check your eligibility in the Funding Eligibility section of each course page, or on our Course Funding & Eligibility page.
How do I hire an apprentice or trainee?
At Zeal Futures, we have a team of dedicated Workforce Solutions Specialists who can help you identify your workforce needs and source quality candidates for apprenticeship and traineeship positions. You'll be involved in recruiting and onboarding your hosted employee, and receive ongoing support in training and mentoring your apprentice and trainee to successful completion.
Do you offer course programs for employment service providers?
Yes, we partner with a number of employment service providers and community organisations to provide customised training programs for their clients. Contact our training team to learn more about how we can help you meet your training needs.
