Actor Lundgren named UIPM Ambassador for LA28 (original) (raw)

GENEVA, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) has named action movie star Dolph Lundgren as a UIPM ambassador for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Lundgren starred in the film "Pentathlon" in 1994, and two years later served as team leader of the U.S. modern pentathlon team at the Atlanta Olympic Games.

"Modern pentathlon has been part of my life for many years, so it's a real honor to reconnect with the sport in this new role," Lundgren said.

"He understands our sport and the Olympic values, and his journey from pentathlete to Hollywood icon reflects many of the qualities that define our athletes today - versatility, resilience and a willingness to embrace new challenges," UIPM president Rob Stull said. Enditem
