Is Bringing Jackson Back for Grey's Anatomy Season 21 the Right Call?

Grey's Anatomy Season 21 is bringing back Jesse Williams' Jackson Avery, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. The character did all there was for him to do during his time on the show, and while I did enjoy his few guest appearances after that, I don't think he needs to return in a major way. Then again, several characters are set to depart this upcoming season, so it's possible he's being brought back to help fill the void.
