Mark Clifton Wins the 2010 Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award

The Rediscovery Award is chosen each year by a panel of judges who know a great deal about science fiction, and about who deserves to be rediscovered.

This year's award went to Mark Clifton (1906-1963). Regular readers of Analog back in the 1950s may remember him, but otherwise he is indeed little known.

He won a Hugo Award in 1954 for his novel They'd Rather Be Right, an award that was controversial at the time.

And here is the Wikipedia article about him.

A thoughtful review of the volume of his best short stories will help you get the flavor of his work.
