Every day, 48 million Americans wake up knowing they may not have enough food that day. One in six of those living in food-insecure households are children.

You can help.

How? By joining us at the 10-year-anniversary Craig Murphey Fellowship Fundraiser! For this milestone anniversary, we’ll be once again raffling off thousands of dollars worth of prizes, drinking drinking beer and helping fight hunger in the name of anti-hunger advocate and friend, Craig Murphey.

As always, proceeds from this event will benefit Hunger Free America (formerly known as the New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH)) and will help fund the Craig Murphey Fellowship program. This non-profit group engages in direct action to bring food to hungry households and, and to advocate for programs that target the root causes of hunger in New York City, the United States, and across the world.

The magazine “The Nation” called NYCCAH (as it was then known) “one of the leading direct service and advocacy organizations on hunger and poverty in the nation.”The Craig Murphey Fellowship continues the outstanding work of Murphey, a young community organizer who worked tirelessly to help bring locally grown, nutritious food to low-income New Yorkers.

After Craig lost his life in a bicycle accident in 2007, NYCCAH created the fellowship program in his honor to help carry on his legacy of anti-hunger advocacy.Craig worked as hard as he laughed and danced, and it’s in this spirit that we’ve put together a great night of food, drink, laughter and friendship — all for a great cause.
