'24', 'Grey's Anatomy' star Kim Raver joins 'Revolution' (original) (raw)

Kim Raver has joined the cast of NBC's new series Revolution.

The sci-fi drama - from JJ Abrams (Lost) and Eric Kripke (Supernatural) - is set in a future world in which all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.

Raver (24, Grey's Anatomy) will play a major role, though details of her character are being kept a secret, TVLine reports.

The 43-year-old's additional credits include stints on Third Watch, Lipstick Jungle and The Nine. She recently exited Grey's Anatomy, on which she played Dr Teddy Altman from 2009.

Billy Burke (Twilight), Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human), David Lyons (The Cape), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) and Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) will also star in Revolution, which debuts September 17 on NBC in the US.

The show's pilot episode is already available online to watch in full for US residents.
