'Rocksmith' PC release date announced (original) (raw)

Rocksmith for PC has been assigned a release date by Ubisoft.

The music teaching tool will be available through Steam on October 16, and can be pre-purchased through the distribution platform now.

Customers who pre-order the software will be granted access to a closed beta, which is now under way, and receive two extra in-game packs.

The 'Heavy Metal - Gear Pack' grants users access to a range of virtual amps and effect pedals, while the 'Guitarcade' add-on contains various mini-games.

PC users who download their copy digitally are required to purchase the Real Tone Cable separately in order to use the software.

Rocksmith was previously released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
