Released originally in 1974 on vinyl and tape.
US releases with 'butterfly' labels: 1st issued as Queen II. The variation Queen II has the same label type showing the 'Queen' logo, a special font on top of label is also seen on the RCA Club Queen II, with Los Angeles address instead of New York, and Warner Communications text. Additionally issued with 'butterfly' labels, with plain 'Queen' text on top: Queen II / Queen II / Queen II.
The 1st UK edition Queen II shows '℗1974 Trident Audio Productions Ltd.' as text on both labels (1 o'clock).
An intermediate pressing Queen II shows '℗1974 Trident Audio Productions Ltd.' on label A and '℗1974' located below the Trident logo on label B.
The 2nd UK edition Queen II has side indicators still positioned below the spindle hole but '℗1974' is located below the Trident logo on both labels.
None of these original editions come with "CREST DESIGN (c) QUEEN PRODUCTIONS LTD 1975" on the rear cover, inner cover or either side of the inner sleeve. Corners of inner sleeve has been angle cut.
On subsequent editions side indicators are positioned above the track list on labels, while '℗1974' and publishers appear below the Trident logo.
Officially, the entire back catalogue was re-issued for the first time on CD in 1986, and again on CD/tape in remastered form in 1991 for the US market (via Hollywood Records and adding a few non-album tracks or remixes not included on the original versions).
Parlophone also re-issued the remastered versions in 1993/1994, and subsequently several additional re-remastered versions (some in 5.1 DTS) have appeared.
Starting 2009, the entire back catalogue of studio albums (newly remastered) was re-released again, this time on heavyweight vinyl. CD versions appeared in 2011 as standard and "Deluxe Edition" (the latter including a 2nd disc with sparse bonus tracks).

I’ve never heard an original pressing (UK or US) of this incredible album, but this ‘75 repress sounds way richer and more dynamic than any digital version I’ve encountered. An absolute joy to listen to!
Everything sounds very clean but lacks brightness, there are no highs and the volume is very low, it's boring. And these are the same masters from 2011 so I guess neither of them are worth it.
It is true that at the end of each side there is some distortion, the pressing is bad and the vinyl is of poor quality but with all that it is superior to the 2011 remaster.
Pressed under intern. Licence EMI / Japan Matrix: P-10119E - Official release, pressed in tiny quantity after the Am. GI's had left the Island
The 2 x one sided test press is 1G 1G shouldn't this single album be the same ?
I don’t what people say about the Bob Ludwig remasters, this album never sounded this good. Everything just pops out with super detail. The guitars are incredible. I’ve never heard this album in such detail. Every other version sounds like a blanket over the speakers.
Not a bad choice for this album. A bit mid-range heavy, but I’m glad there are no fatiguing highs. A boost in the bass on the EQ (if you have one) does this pressing wonders. Given that many presses of this album sound poor, I can recommend this one.

Fantastic press of this album. The original production and recording was never great, but this pressing is very listenable and full of dynamics and not fatiguing. Much, much better than the UK '84 EMI 'Fame' series reissue.
