Men who on the production shift(1) move along the face with the power loading machine and whose jobs include operating the controls of the machine or setting or withdrawing supports or trimming the face or breaking up coal; (2) advance the conveyor or rubbing rail or set supports immediately behind the conyor or rubbing rail.

Removing the firing head, cleaning shells after firing and re-charging the shells under the supervision of the Shotfirer and/or Deputy and keeping records.

Working Underground, using simple surveying instruments and maintaining non-statutory plans, placing and maintaining directibn lines and/or making regular measurements of rippings, packs, face advance, etc.

R.O.L.F. Man

Directly engaged during coal-getting operations on a R.O.L.F. installation in any of the following work on that installation:
(i) operating the console
(ii) making the R.O.L.F. gates or roads
(iii) stable bole work
(iv) ancillary face work
(v) maintenance of, or replacement of components on. the R.O.L.F. equipment on the working site.

Colliery Electro-Mechanic

Competent electrician and competent fitter qualified by experience or training and/or apprenticeship, engaged at a col liery on the combined duties of instal lation, examination, testing. maintenance and repair of the colliery's electrical and mechanical apparatus.

Colliery Fitter

Competent fitter qualified by experience or training and/or apprerticeship, engaged at a colliery on the installation, examination, testing, maintenance and repair of the colliery's mechanical apparatus.

Colliery Electrician

Competent electrician qualified by experience or training and/or apprenticeship, engaged at a colliery on the instal lation. examination, testing, maintenance and repair of the colliery's electrical apparatus.

Power Loader Man

Directly engaged during coal getting operations on a coal face operated by a power loading machine (other than a remotely operated longwall face or any face at Bevercotes Colliery), or an advanced heading worked in conjunction with such a face, on any of the following work on the installation:
(i) operating the power loading machine where this involves moving along the face with it;
(ii) advancing the face conveyor and supports, or setting or withdrawing supports on the face;
(iii) making the face gates or roads;
(iv) stable hole work;
(v) building packs;
(vi) water infusion;
(vii) drilling holes for blasting or for water infusion;
(viii) maintenance of or replacement of components on, the mechanical or electrical equipment of the installation on the working site.

Switch, Valve, Pump and Telephone Operator

Employed in connection with power loading in all the following activities; operating set of switches for face conveyors, loaders and other underground machinery; controlling water pressure valves; topping-up hydraulic fluid in booster pumps, as necessary; receiving, transmitting and taking action on the telephone or Tannoy system messages; communicating with both surface and power loading teams.
