Maranatha – The second of our 3 special Confirmation preparation Maranatha events takes place on Friday next, 6th March, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in St. Patrick’s Church and will also be broadcast on our parish webcam (https://churchmedia.tv/camera/st-patricks-church-donabate ). We will be welcoming our Confirmation candidates and their parents where the theme will be the Our Father. As always, we remember in a special way all our young people at Maranatha as well as bringing our own intentions. If there is anyone you would like remembered at Maranatha this month, please email the names to myam.admin@gmail.com by next Wednesday if possible.

Early Morning weekday Mass for Lent – 8am in Swords – Little reminder of the early morning weekday Mass during Lent at 8am Mass in St. Colmcille’s Church, Swords village, Monday to Friday during Lent.

‘Baptised and Sent’ Lenten time of reflection – Fridays at 10:30am – Join us on Friday mornings during Lent for a time of reflection based around the Sunday Gospel from 10:30-11:30am in the Parish Hall Library Room (the white room to the right-hand side of the main parish hall, with it’s own white door). We ensure we finish promptly to facilitate parents with pre-school pick-ups.

Family Mass – Saturday 14th March Our next Family Mass will take place at the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday next, 14th March, in Donabate Church. We would be delighted if families can participate on the 14th. Please spread the word! Any families wishing to participate in the Family Mass next Saturday can register their interest by emailing: donabateparishcm@gmail.com

Welcoming our newest members – March welcome Mass Our welcome Mass including First Anointing for babies and children becoming members of our parish family during the month of March will take place at the 10am Saturday morning Mass on Saturday next 14th March. We look forward to welcoming them and their families and invite parishioners to pray for them during the coming week.

Housebound House Call Any parishioner who would like a priest to visit them on the First Friday of each month and would like to receive the Eucharist, please contact the parish office or one of the priests.

During Lent Monday to Thursday and on Saturday exposition of the Holy Eucharist will be held after the 10am Mass for 30 minutes. Each Friday during Lent there will be Stations of the Cross after Mass.

Devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus is taking place after 10 O’Clock Mass every Thursday in St. Patricks Church, Donabate and after the Sunday 11am Mass. All welcome.

Prayers for Holy Souls taking place every Friday after 10 o’Clock Mass in St. Patricks Church Donabate. All welcome.

Visit of the First-Class Relics of St. Thérése of Lisieux and her parents St. Louis & St Zélie Martin in St. Sylvester’s Church, Malahide from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th of March.

Rise before Dawn for St. Patrick’s Day A call to all Christians. This St. Patrick’s day in union with other Christians throughout Ireland, we will gather in St. Patrick’s Church, Donabate at 5.45am to pray to St. Patrick for our country. More details to follow next week.

Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock 2026. Our partnership parish Brackenstown have arranged a bus to travel to Knock on Saturday 25th of April. If anyone would like to travel on the bus please contact Louise in Brackenstown parish office to book a seat. The cost of per person is €30. The bus will leave Donabate Church at 7am, St. Cronan’s Church at 7.25am, Fingal County Council Offices at 7.35am and St. Finian’s Church, Rivervalley at 7.45am.

Alpha – Spring 2026 It’s still not too late to join our Spring 2026 running of Alpha. Our next session takes place on Tuesday next, 10th February from 8:15-9:15pm in Donabate Parish Hall where we’ll discuss the question Who is Jesus? Join us for tea/coffee, video input and chats, where we discuss faith and life in a relaxed atmosphere where everyone’s views are welcomed and respected.

RCIA – keeping Isabella & James in prayer We are delighted that last weekend at the 6:30pm Mass we formally welcomed two young people, Isabella and James, as they journey in preparation to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist this Easter. We invite you to keep Isabella and James in your prayers as they prepare to become members of our Catholic family. We also encourage you to keep in your prayers all babies and children who will receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and/or Eucharist during this year. *Note: Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a journey for those seeking to become Catholic. Hospitality – Sunday 8th March We would like to welcome everyone to the parish hall after Mass where we will have baked goods, biscuits and of course tea and coffee. We hope to see you there for a chat and a catch up.

Call for more Eucharistic Adorers – Fridays – Many thanks to those who have come forward to commit to spending some time with Jesus on Fridays…there’s still plenty of room for more volunteers, so see newsletter, website and parish social media for more details.

Children’s Faith Sessions – Sundays from 5-6pm We have recently recommenced children’s faith sessions for some children preparing for Baptism and their parents. These sessions are also open to other families with children aged between approximately 5 – 9yrs, who would like to get to know more about their faith, have fun, engage with other families and to offer support to those preparing for Baptism. Young Adult Bible Study We would like to invite new members to join our Young Adult Faith Fellowship. This is a faith formation group and is an opportunity to connect with other local young adults in a community of faith. The group meets every Wednesday evening and is open to anyone aged 18-30. Donabate Teen Youth Group – Our parish teen online youth group is currently welcoming new members to its sessions on Friday evenings from 8-9pm via Zoom.
