County Councillor Mick Quinn has announced that he is to step down from Donegal County Council.

The highly-respected Sinn Fein politician has retired on medical grounds.

The Glenswilly man, who has multiple sclerosis, has served more than seven years on the local authority.

His replacement is expected to be co-opted onto the council in May.
