EAFF & EWFC 2010 Semi-final Competition

Ni hao!

First of all, it is great honour and pleasure for me as President of East Asian Football Federation to welcome our good football family of East Asia to Chinese Taipei on the occasion of the Semi-Final competition for the East Asian Football Championship 2010 in Japan.

I would like to thank Mr. Lu Kun Shan, President of Chinese Taipei Football Association, Mr. Liu Fu-Tsai, Chairman of LOC, Ms. Chen Chu, Mayor of Kaohsiung City, Mr. Anthony Lin, Chairman of KOC Foundation, Mr. Su Huan-Jhih, Mayor of Tainan County, Mr. Chen Chao-Lai, Councillor of Tainan County, for their tireless efforts and unchangeable supports to prepare for the competition.

Since 2003 EAFF had organised the Final Competition of the East Asia Football Championship in Japan, Korea and China.
At the preliminary competition of the EAFC 2010 in Guam, March 2009, in which Northern Mariana Islands had participated first time officially, Guam survived through very tough completion. Now Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, Hong Kong and Guam will compete fiercely toward the final competition in next year.

I am certain that the officials and players of participating teams, with the pride as National Team and with the spirit of Fair Play, will deliver exciting matches that would fascinate the fans. I believe that doing your best and challenging each other in this tough competition of preliminaries will lead to raise the standard of East Asian football.

We will move forward, together with all of you, for further development of football in East Asia.

East Asian Football Federation
President Junji OGURA
