What a week for news! First, Jesse Spencer lets the masses know he will be returning for season eight of House. And now, Grey's Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes lit up her Twitter feed with some news about next season.

So what's the deal with the rumors that the eighth season will be Grey's last?

Basically, don't believe it, because it's just not true. Shonda tweeted today: "Just for the record: This is not the last season of GA. Definitely. Not."

Case closed, everybody. We'll all be enjoying a ninth season after all. But she didn't stop there with GA news. Shonda also tweeted that there will be no new castmembers this season. "Full house already," she claims. So if you were waiting for McDreamy's hot cousin twice removed on his mother's side, you are sadly out of luck.

Speaking of McDreamy, a fan tweeted at Shonda that Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo leaving would break her MerDer-loving heart. Her response? "Mine too. Hope they stay." There you go, MerDer shippers. The boss is definitely pulling for them to stick around.

And just in case any of you were thinking the canceled Off the Map had a fighting chance, Shonda is here to crush all your hopes and dreams. When someone tried to enlist her help on getting OTM back on the air, Shonda did not sugarcoat things: "I wish I could. Honestly. But it is gone. It can't come back." Then, another OTM fan demanded to know why she couldn't bring it back, with which Shonda replied: "Because I do not own or run ABC."

This now concludes Shonda Rhimes' awesome online class called Television 101. Thanks for being here.

Happy to hear next season of GA won't be the last? Will you still watch if Meredith and Derek exit? Debate amongst yourselves in the comments below, but play nicely.
