Camilla Dallerup is professional British based dancer, with speciality in Latin Dance. Her career highlights include being Asia Pasific and New Zealand Latin Champion, World Open, International Open and British Open Latin Semi-Finalist.

Current Professional Dancing Partner: Ian Waite. Camilla teamed up with Ian Waite over 2 years ago after having been competitors for many years they decided to have a career together. Camilla have been in the top 12 of the International Professional Latin American championships both with Ian and her previous partner Brendan Cole.

Born in 1974 in Aalborg, Denmark. Dancing and performing have filled Camila's live from a very early age. Camilla's mother took her along to her first dance classes when she was two years old. Her mother loved dancing and thought it would give Camilla good posture and teach her to be well mannered. "I suppose right at the beginning I was just like any other kid who wanted to be outside playing instead of going dancing - that was until the day my mum said: 'Ok, fine no more dancing'. I was then hooked because now it was my choice and it has been my choice ever since." Soon, Camilla won the Danish Junior Championships at the age of 12. At the age of 16 she moved to England where she competed with Brendan Cole, who also became her boyfriend. In 2003 Dallerup and Cole were placed 3rd for Latin American at the UK Closed Championships. She then appeared on all four series of Strictly Come Dancing and her nine year relationship break up with her fiance' and dance partner Cole was publicised, due to his alleged affair with BBC news reader Natasha Kaplinsky. Following the first series of Strictly Come Dancing Camilla trained Travis Oliver and choreographed his rumba for the movie Everything To Dance For, in which Brendan also starred.

853.jpg (17060 bytes)Camilla was paired with David Dickinson in series one of Strictly Come Dancing and they were the second couple to be voted off. In series two Camilla danced with Roger Black and together they were the sixth couple to be voted off. Series three saw Camilla paired with celebrity chef James Martin and they did extremely well, making it to the Semi-Final before being voted off. Camilla felt very privileged having danced with James; he was the perfect student and was hard working, dedicated and showed a real talent for dancing. In Series four Camilla partnered with actor Ray Fearon and was voted off on the week 6.

Although she has dedicated her live to perfect dance there has been time for other studies too - Camilla took a business degree.

"My favourite dance is the Rumba", says Camilla, "as it's the dance where I can really express myself. It sums up the feeling of dancing and lets you really touch the audience. Feelings-wise, it is much slower than the other Latin dances so you have a little more time to be expressive. My least favourite changes all the time... For the Strictly Come Dancing it will probably is the Quickstep, because it will probably be the hardest to get the celebrity to do. It will be hard for me as a woman because the man has to lead".

Brendan Cole was born in Christchurch, New Zealand on 23rd of April, 1976. His mother took Brendan and his brother along to ballroom dancing classes when he was six years old. Initially, he hated it and used to be dragged there kicking and screaming. Over the next few years Ballroom dancing would fast become his passion and he would become the New Zealand Juvenile, Junior and Youth Champion and completed in Various International Competitions At age 17 having left school and working as a Roof layer and then a Builder. Brendan had the opportunity to go to Europe to compete in the World Youth Ballroom Championships, when he saw London and the difference in training and teaching from back home. He decides in order to achieve his dancing goals he would have to move to London to pursue his career as a Latin Dancer and does in 1995, at the age of 18. One year on in 1996 he met Danish born dancer Camilla Dallerup, and their decision to team up would be the decision of what was to be their next eight private and professional years. Like most young couples that have a passion or a goal, they both worked all different jobs to enable their dream to develop. It proved to be very difficult but from Building houses to selling insurance their dancing would take place around that, practicing and taking lessons in the evenings and weekends and competing wherever and whenever they could. After four years an offer to go to Hong Kong to teach would be the next big step in their career. Accepting, they decided that it was time to make the dancing their business and turned Professional in January of 2000. Although a very bold decision this was definitely the right move and their career flourished. They became the New Zealand Professional Champions and Asian Open Professional Champions and soon settling into all four major Semi-finals of the International, United Kingdom Open, British Open and World Championships, considered the top four competitions throughout the world. As Professional Dancers, they also choreographed and performed numerous shows throughout the World as well as Choreographing stage shows and various other performances for other Dancers worldwide. In 2004, their careers would see the next big step and take a very dramatic and exciting change. They were invited to take part in a new Reality style TV Program developed by the BBC. Their eight year partnership would end and this was also to be the end of Brendans Competing days. Brendan was to be paired with BBC Breakfasts Natasha Kaplinsky, and for the next three months they would train together learning eleven Ballroom and Latin Dancers and perform them live to the nation on a Saturday night and become the first ever winners of the very successful Saturday night television show Strictly Come Dancing. Brendan placed 6th in 2nd season with actress Sarah Manners, 3rd at Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special (Champion Of Champions) again with Natasha Kaplinsky, 9th in 3rd series of Strictly Come Dancing with TV presenter Fiona Phillips, 6th in 4th series with actress Claire King. Along with so many countries, Television New Zealand also produces Dancing with the Stars of which Brendan has become the slightly harsher Judge as well as demonstrating in the show with co-host Candy Lane. This show has just seen its third and very successful Series. In 2004 Brendan would have his stage debut in a pantomime of a classic Cinderella infused with a Strictly Come Dancing twist, where he would take on the role of Prince Charming in a first for him, with singing, acting and dancing along side BBCs Cave girl and Skys Mile High Actress Stacey Cadman. In July and August of 2006 he would endure 7 weeks on a Fijian Island (tough break) with 10 other Celebrity contestants in ITVs Love Island. Brendan lasted the entire Seven weeks and two days, finishing a close second with 49 percent of wining male vote. In January of 2007 The BBC would invite him to compete in the Reality hit Just The Two of US where he and six other Celebrity contestants would be partnered with Legendry Singers. Brendan and Beverly Knight finished second to Marty Pellow and Hannah Waterman.

Brendan likes the Rumba the most, "because you can create something together and the emotion is so powerful compared with the other Latin dances. It's two bodies trying to create a moment." Brendan always looks forward to all the dances, especially the ballroom as it's a challenge because he doesn't get to do them too often.

30/08 "You dont know what to expect from Eurovision Dance Contest, but this contest is to take seriously, not like Eurovision Song Contest. It is serious and cool version of Eurovision I hope people will like it. And no, we're not dancing Morris Dancing as our national dance . Were not sure if people watching in Europe would vote for that. Were coming up with something more 2007", says Camilla Dallerup.

First Brendan Cole was approached by BBC to take part in the competition and was asked if he will do it. His first answer was no, as Camilla already had new boyfriend Fabio, and dancing partner Ian. But next they've discussed it together and decided it will be perfect for their last dance. "This competition will be a celebration of the eight years we had together with Brendan and were going to put all our experiences and emotions into the rumba. Its the first dance well do, as it shows real emotions between us.

"The Way We Were - it's an amazing tune that has taken me around the world. I've danced to that song in the Kremlin in Russia and I've danced in Japan with Brendan. That was our favourite number. It is a Rumba and it just described everything. Eight years of ups and downs. A beautiful song", tells Camila. "We touch and it starts happening and things create. It's pretty much exactly the way it was, we have a special bond and always have had. OK, it was broken a few years back but we've come through all the nastiness and all the things a break-up causes", adds Brendan.

"I'm swimming but that's to stay strong for Strictly as well. I'm dancing with two partners at the moment so I'm trying to eat twice as much I usually do to keep my energy up", says Camilla about her preparations. "I was going to stop drinking, but it's hard. But I have special secret, I do wear the same pair of pants for quite some years at competitions", adds Brendan.

28/08- We're part of English dance scene and two of only four dancers who've starred in every series of Strictly Come Dancing. Plus my dad is Scottish and Mum is from North of England. I've been living here for 12 years, explains Brendan to critics about the selection of their couple.
- When we were selecting the dances we were thinking "Will Great Britain be proud of us". It's scary because it's huge responsibility. One of the songs is quite personal to us, it's about our story. It should be quite magical, have expained dancers their choice of dance to TV Times.

04/07 BBC has revealed that Brendan Cole and Camilla Dallerup will represent UK at Eurovision Dance Contest.

Despite living and dancing together for over nine years, tensions during the first season of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing caused the pair to separate both on the dance floor and as partners. For the first time, since their split three years ago, Camilla and Brendan will dance together one last time. Invited to represent the nation in the new Eurovision Dance Contest, Brendan and Camilla will have to sweep aside their angst and hot-step around a ballroom for their last dance. Prepare to see a sensational performance with passion, zeal and real life tension as the couple let the sequins fly.

This is what Ian Waite, present dance partner of Camilla commented on her participation in the competition:
"My dance partnership with Camilla is still going strong and we are still dancing together. Camilla will be dancing with Brendan in the Eurovision Dance Contest as I was unable to due to prior work engagements. Like SCD I will be lending my partner out as a one-off! This will be Camilla and Brendan's 'last dance' together and we are looking forward to our shows continuing into 2008"
