46.5 to JL Denly, struck on the pad, and given! Denly falls two short of a half-century. Slightly full of a length, nipped in a fraction off the seam as he looked to work towards mid-on. Struck on the pad, and no hesitation from the umpire. Anderson has a breakthrough for Team Stokes!. 143/282.4 to DW Lawrence, flicked to the on-side, and scooped up at short midwicket! Hitting across the line, and paying the price. 262/5
75.4 to OJ Pope, struck on the back pad as he looks to whip a straight one through midwicket... and given! Overton has his second! Pope didn't much like it, but it looked adjacent enough to the naked eye. 234/4
62.2 to JR Bracey, strangled down the leg side! Length ball, speared down leg, and Bracey gets a tickle on it as it flies through to Foakes. Cruel way to go after a solid innings. 196/3
42.2 to Z Crawley, perfect line, draws a prod, Crawley nicks off! Just a casual raise of the fist from Woakes, but that was a beauty, jagging late to flummox Crawley's straight-batted push. So has he done enough to unseat Denly at No.3 after all?. 116/4
15.5 to DP Sibley, short stuff does the job, Sibley gloves behind! Archer with the breakthrough for the Jos Army, he was quickly up in appeal and it didn't take long for the umpire's finger to follow. Looked like he just got a tickle, trying to work it away off his body. Team Stokes lose their first. 30/168.2 to BT Foakes, short again, hurried for pace as he takes on the pull and he falls tamely, caught at mid-on! Not a great shot by any means from Foakes, who had got somewhat bogged down, and Archer has his second wicket. 183/8
34.1 to JM Bairstow,a wild flash on the full length, and snicked to the keeper! Bairstow's patience cracks! It was right up to the bat, but the pace was hot and it was through Jonny before he could properly line it up. A tightened stance works up to a point... but it's a limp finish. 83/3
63.1 to MM Ali, slightly full of a length, trapped on the pad, big shout... given! Robinson gets the breakthrough. Couple of question marks there, over whether it pitched outside the leg stump and if it might have gone over the top of the stumps, but it was good enough for the umpire. A nothing shot from Moeen, who never really got going, and was struck on the pad without much foot movement. 179/663.5 to L Gregory, uses his feet again, struck on the back pad again and there's another loud shout... given this time! Looked pretty adjacent to me, and Gregory's frenetic innings comes to a lamentable end. 179/7
22.3 to KK Jennings, gottim, Jennings steers to slip! And there I was, giving him the biggun about his ability against spin... Nicely bowled by Bess, just the right line from round the wicket and it gripped, straightened and clipped the outside edge. Taken safely by the lurking Burns. 41/282.1 to C Overton, the arm ball does it, Overton nicks behind! Second wicket of the day for Bess, who's bowled very nicely indeed. Maybe a bit of drift did for the batsman, no great turn but he knew he'd got an edge. Brings an end to a nuggety little stand between Overton and Leach. 216/9
53.1 to BA Stokes, and it's brought the downfall of Stokes, beaten by spin and stumped out of his ground! We saw Parkinson smuggle one through in the previous over, and he's done it again here, leaving Buttler to gleefully whip off the bails and send back his opposite number on the brink of tea!. 152/5
87.5 to S Mahmood, heaved leg side, but he's picked out a fielder! Mahmood tosses it away, giving Virdi a wicket for his troubles (having begun the game outside the XIV) and that will be that for the day. Lovely. 233/10
18.2 to JR Bracey, a wild wipe across the line, but that's a steepling top-edge. Backward square steadies himself and swallows the chance! At least, I assume it was routine, judging from the low-key responses of all watching fielders. Bracey's made an impact this week, but that's a bit of a sucker dismissal. 61/1
19.1 to JL Denly, round the wicket, tight line, thumps the back pad and that's plumb! Denly was pushing down the wrong line there, and never came close to connecting. Well, well. Cat, meet pigeons. 62/239.5 to CR Woakes, Woakes uses his feet, pushed through quicker by Leach and he hasn't got all of it... caught in the deep! Woakes' cameo comes to an end, and it was good fun while it lasted. His batting returns have dropped off in the last year so that will do his confidence a bit of a boost. 182/541.4 to DW Lawrence, full from wide on the crease, thumped down the ground... and caught on the rope. And Team Buttler have declared. 200/6
22.1 to RJ Burns, whoops, there's a misjudgement! Back of a length, an attempted glide through the off side, but that just skids on through what little remains of Burns' defences, and knocks back his off stump! This innings is suddenly snowballing, 67 overs remaining to make a game of it.... 74/330.5 to JC Buttler, launched up in the air over the off side, but he didn't get all of it... and caught in the deep! Buttler departs after a livewire cameo. He looked to get legside of this and swing it over wide mid-off, but it skewed off the bat and Sibley swallowed the chance in the deep. 124/4
16.1 to JM Bairstow, floated up outside the off stump, Bairstow throws everything at it but it's flown miles up into the air... and the fielder in the deep takes the catch!. 70/124.3 to DP Sibley, gottim! Legbreak which just turns a fraction to beat the outside edge and Buttler whips the bails off as Sibley lifts his back leg to complete a sharp stumping. Two for Parkinson.... 97/2
29.1 to Z Crawley, hit on the back pad trying to work to leg, big shout, given! Looked good to the naked eye, smashed dead in front and Crawley trudges off after a useful cameo. 150/3
30.2 to MM Ali, skids on with the angle as Moeen tries to reverse this through point. He's struck on the pad, Bess goes up, and he's given! Thought that might have hit him outside the line, but Moeen is on his way. 157/4
