64.2 to TAM Siriwardana, oh, he had to juggle it. It popped out, and Taylor was falling away to the ground by that time. Luckily for him it comes back down in a straight line and he takes the second chance. Looks massively relieved at doing so. Lovely awayswinger, pulled Siriwardana to drive, which he has not been shy of doing. But this time since Boult gets the line and length right, the movement works for him. Ends a 136-run stand at over four an over. 259/5 64.5 to KDK Vithanage, another good catch, captain shows em how its done! Boult sets him up with an outswinger angled into the pads again. Manages to veer it in the air to make sure the outside edge lobs up towards mid-off. McCullum runs in, dives low and takes the catch.. 259/6
Tim Southee 21 5 63 3 3.00 97 6 0 1 0
13.4 to FDM Karunaratne, that's the inside edge, that's the blip in concentration. That's the wicket New Zealand desperately needed. Pretty straightforward delivery considering all the talk around this pitch. Simple, good length ball working the left-hander over with the angle across him. Not that much seam or swing. Karunaratne just poked and pays for it. BJ Watling behind the stumps does the rest.. 39/1 15.4 to BKG Mendis, lovely delivery! He has been using the crease so well. Always goes a touch wider of the stumps to create the angle into the right-hander, to make him play. Then Southee makes the ball seam away, kiss the outside edge and give Watling his second catch of the innings. 44/2 73.1 to AD Mathews, oh, that's a big wicket, Mathews is caught at third slip, lovely catch by Latham! That nagging line outside off from Southee to make Mathews play, he pokes his bat out, the ball moves away from back of length and hits the outside edge near the sticker to go low to Latham's right and he grabs it with both hands. 284/8
Doug Bracewell 22.1 4 81 2 3.65 100 8 1 1 0
34.2 to LD Chandimal, there is the luck he has worked so hard for! Poor fella, he barely even celebrates after removing the best of the Sri Lankan batsmen on this tour. It's the fuller ball, it's placed outside off stump, it's pulled out the expansive drive. And while Chandimal has been crunching those all morning, this has moved away just enough to snatch the edge and go through to Watling. Chandimal strides back against the run of play. Jeez, he looked good for a third fifty in three innings.. 121/4 80.1 to PVD Chameera, that's it, it's the final wicket and Bracewell gets the last man. It was a length delivery on the off stump, Chameera tried to flick to leg and mistimed it completely, giving a leading edge to McCullum at mid-off. 292/10
Neil Wagner 9 1 51 1 5.66 33 3 2 2 0
77.6 to RAS Lakmal, no need to rely on the bails, trust your fielders, and Wagner has Lakmal caught at gully! He pitched it short again on off stump, making Lakmal play as he tried to fend by holding his bat in front of the face and the ball took an edge from the shoulder of the bat to go to Williamson. 288/9

71.2 to BJ Watling, there's width, Watling drives and he has found gully! Watling is still hanging around there as the umpires check if the catch was taken cleanly. Watling drove away from the body and the ball was pretty low when it reached Vithanage, but he did well to catch that. Umpire Kettleborough says there's only one angle available, with magnifications, which isn't conclusive so he lets the on-field umpires decide on that, and they decide to give that out. 196/7
Angelo Mathews 11 7 25 0 2.27 58 4 1 0 0
Nuwan Pradeep 17.4 4 39 2 2.20 90 5 0 1 5
62.1 to MJ Santner, has he nicked that? That looked out! Umpire Reifell does not think so, shakes his head upon the appeal. But Sri Lanka go over his head and onto the third umpire. This was a peach! Pradeep was going around the wicket, hit back of a length and got the ball to straighten just enough to take the outside edge. Intriguingly Hot Spot does not show anything, but Real Time Snicko does show a spike as ball passes bat. I heard a sound as well. Santner drags himself back to the dressing room after 105 balls of high-class lower-order resistance. 168/6 79.4 to TA Boult, and Boult doesn't last long, he miscues a pull and NZ are all out for 237. He opened up for the pull, it was a short ball indeed, and the mistimed pull was taken by a leaping Herath at mid-on for a one-handed catch to end the innings. 237/10
Rangana Herath 22 1 75 2 3.40 89 6 2 0 0
25.2 to MJ Guptill, oh, Guptill has given it away! It was tossed up on off stump, Guptill went for a slog for some reason, only got an edge and that went quickly to first slip where Mathews caught it with both hands over his head with a jump. 86/3 43.1 to BB McCullum, is there an inside edge? SL think so and so does McCullum because he walks! It was coming in slightly from outside off, McCullum wanted to flick it to leg but only got an inside edge onto the pad before it went towards silly point where Mendis took a sharp catch with both hands to his right. 128/5
Dushmantha Chameera 13 3 47 5 3.61 62 6 1 2 1
22.5 to TWM Latham, that's the first breakthrough and Chameera has done it in his second over with that fielder on the leg side! It was a back of length delivery on the hips, Latham tucked it fine and it went straight to leg gully. Karunaratne there juggled a couple of times but held on to it fine. 81/1 24.2 to KS Williamson, KW's gone too, he's fallen to the short ball, Chameera has done it for SL! He banged it in short from round the wicket, there are fielders sprinkled all over the leg side and KW still goes for the pull. Doesn't get the distance and it goes high enough for Lakmal to run to his right from deep square leg to get under that, he was not even at the boundary as KW got a top edge. 83/2 26.5 to LRPL Taylor, another short ball, another wicket! Chameera is doing it almost all by himself for SL and Taylor is gone for a duck! What a display of excellent short-pitch bowling from Chameera - this was short and angling away from just around off, Taylor barely had any time and stuck his bat out not too far from his body, the ball took the top glove before reaching Chandimal. 89/4 72.2 to TG Southee, another one falls to the short ball, NZ are eight down! Southee moved a long way to the off side for the short ball outside leg, he went ahead for the pull shot and got a top edge that went high enough for Jayasundera to get under it at fine leg. 201/8 78.4 to N Wagner, make it a five-for for Chameera, Wagner is caught at cover, which means it is stumps. Wagner saw some room on the off side, freed his arms with a big swing but only found Vithanage at cover. 232/9

28.2 to BKG Mendis, oh, what a catch at fine leg from Santner, right at the boundary! Bouncer from Southee outside off, Mendis hooks it away from him and gets a top edge. It's going high and probably for a six, but Santner checks where he is and grabs it with both hands to his left, almost losing his balance, but stays in and completes it nicely!. 87/4 30.1 to AD Mathews, he gets the big wicket, Mathews has played an unnecessary shot to the short ball and gloved it to the keeper! It was short down leg, had good bounce and Mathews didn't get into a good position the way Siriwardana got for those two sixes, he hooked down leg and only got a glove for Watling to catch it and leap in excitement!. 110/5 32.3 to HMRKB Herath, the bail has fallen, stop the press!! Short of length on leg, Herath swiveled on the back foot to pull it away but got a glove, then pad and the ball bounced to hit the leg stump. I must add that only one of the bails fell there, the one on the right didn't budge at all!. 123/7 36.3 to N Pradeep, it's all over, Sri Lanka are all out as Pradeep backs away to pull the short ball, gets a top edge and that goes high before Watling takes an easy catch. 133/10
Doug Bracewell 8 1 31 2 3.87 40 5 0 2 1
22.4 to FDM Karunaratne, it's the short ball that breaks the opening stand! Bracewell banged it in to target the batsman who got into an awkward position and defended in front of his face by taking his eyes off the ball, resulting in an edge lobbing up behind him towards the keeper. But Southee ran in from second slip to grab it with both hands. 71/1 22.6 to MDUS Jayasundera, loud appeal for caught behind turned down and NZ review it. It was the short ball indeed, making the batsman play as it angled across and he tried to withdraw at the last moment. Replays aren't 100% conclusive, the third umpire wants to see the Hot Spot again and we can see there was some mark on the right glove but only momentarily, it comes and disappears. There's nothing on Snicko and looks like the third umpire is convinced to overturn the decision. He asks Paul Reiffel to give it out! Don't think there was enough evidence to change the decision, but Kettleborough thought it was out. Jayasundera wasn't happy with the decision. 71/2
Neil Wagner 9 2 40 3 4.44 39 3 3 0 1
25.5 to LD Chandimal, the plan has worked, it's helped straight to leg gully and Guptill takes a good catch to remove an in-form Chandimal! It was the back of length ball on the hips from Wagner, Chandimal worked it away behind square and Guptill did well to grab it to his left with both hands. 77/3 31.5 to TAM Siriwardana, it's not that short, it's not that full and Siriwardana slogs on the leg side and holes out to deep midwicket, he's given that away! It was a wild heave for the short of length ball and the ball went very high which gave enough time for Boult to get under it easily and take it at the boundary. 123/6 33.5 to KDK Vithanage, short ball again and SL lose their eighth wicket, Vithanage gives a catch to third man! He opened up again, the short ball was around middle and off and Vithanage went for an upper cut, giving a pretty straightforward catch to Bracewell in the deep. 131/8

2.3 to TWM Latham, Chameera breaks the stand, yes, it's the short ball! It was on the leg stump, Latham hooked and get enough for the ball to reach Pradeep at fine leg for an easy catch. 4/1 4.5 to MJ Guptill, makes that two for Chameera, he gets Guptill too with the short ball! At least Guptill didn't fall to a hook - it was a well-directed short ball towards middle stump, Guptill hopped on the back foot and defended and the ball took the glove to lob up behind square on the leg side and Karunaratne dived forward for a very good catch, from leg gully. 11/2 24.2 to LRPL Taylor, takeeeennn, on the long leg boundary! Brilliant stuff from Vandersay, the 12th man. It was a rapid short ball again, Taylor went for the pull as most batsmen have been doing all day. Had to drag it, so gets a top edge. Went high, but long enough as well considering that was a short boundary. Vandersay kept his eyes all the way on it, whilst also making sure he was within the field of play. Takes the catch inches from the advertising triangles, knew he was going to fall over with his momentum having moved back and to his left. So he popped it up high, popped outside the rope, popped inside and took the catch again. 78/3 36.1 to BB McCullum, oh, McCullum attacks and falls! He charges down first ball for the short of length ball by making room, and he edges that high a long long way. Mathews comes under that at cover and takes it with both hands, diving at the last moment. 130/4
Suranga Lakmal 12 4 20 1 1.66 59 2 0 0 0
41.4 to MJ Santner, Lakmal bowls a beauty and he's got Santner caught behind! It was a length delivery on the off stump, Santner had to play, but he did so just inside the line of the ball, giving an outside edge to the keeper, who took it easily. 142/5
