FIBBR Tech HDMI v2.0b Ultra Pro Fiber Optic Cables (original) (raw)

Description

Copper Cliff Meets Lightspeed.

We compahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUGyUb0koYQ&feature=emb\_logored a premium 5 ft 4K HDMI copper cable (right) with a 5 ft. FIBBR Ultra Pro HDMI v2.0 fiber optic cable (left) using a static PS4 title page. Fiber optic delivers better color depth, brightness, and contrast, a more faithful copy of the original signal. You can see in the pic below that the screen on the left has better color depth and uniformity whereas the image on the right is washed out and “attenuated”. This is the result of data loss, even though the picture is there, its not accurate.

FIBBR’s Ultra Pro HDMI Fiber Optic cables are made with the highest-quality glass fiber, available exclusively from YOFC, the world’s largest fiber producer. All FIBBR cables feature proprietary BendRobust™ technology, an industry first that allows the fiber to be bent 180-degrees, to guarantee flexibility and durability in extreme conditions with uninterrupted transmission of signals.

FIBBR Ultra Pro HDMI Fiber Optic cables feature PET braided jackets and are slim and flexible, yet strong and extremely lightweight—60% lighter than traditional cabling. These key advantages are critical in protecting valuable connected hardware devices from potential harm caused by heavy cables putting undue stress on delicate connectors.

HDMI over fiber transmits audio and video data via light-waves, meaning they are one-directional. Copper strands are used for +5v power, EDID detection, and HDCP authentication, making the cable a “hybrid”. FIBBR’s Ultra Pro HDMI Fiber Optic cables ensure trouble-free installation with clearly labeled Source and Display ends. A Smart LED indicator on the Source connector confirms proper connection and operation status, while a Flash LED on the Display connector provides lighting—always handy in dark spaces. HDMI Fiber Optic Cables by FIBBR offer reliable high bandwidth, with extremely low signal attenuation, and high resistance to external electromagnetic interference.

How it Works

The opto-electronic converters inside the cable heads convert incoming electrical signal into optical on one end, and back into electrical on the other end. The Ultra Pro is a hybrid composed of fiber and copper cables. The copper cables are used for non-video information such as EDID, HDCP authentication, hot plug detection, grounding, and +5v power. The fiber strands carry all the video and audio content.

Better than copper

According to HDMI.org “The longest HDMI cable runs seen to date have been achieved using fiber-optic cable, which is far less susceptible to attenuation and interference than copper. Electrically it is similar to an active cable or Cat 5/6 solution, the principal difference being the higher-quality optical cabling between the transmit and receive connectors. HDMI over fiber is a highly robust solution, effective in cable runs up to 100 meters or more.”

Easier than any HDMI extender

Since the optical converters are housed inside the heads of the cable, there is no need for any external repeaters. This also means that there is no need for extra power adapters or patch cables.

The Ultra Pro eliminates possible points of failure. In a typical HDMI extender setup you have four HDMI connections (source to sender and receiver to display) plus two RJ45 connections, and two power connections from the baluns to the wall.

That’s eight possible things that can come unplugged, plugged in the wrong way, worn out over time or just need to be stuffed somewhere out of sight. With the Ultra Pro you only have one cable connected directly and can be easily verified end to end. Troubleshooting is incredibly easy compared to any other setup.

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANTAGES

YOFC is the largest active optical cable provider in the world, and it’s subsidiary brand FIBBR is it’s first active optical cable brand in the consumer electronics category.

Over 50% of the staff are in the R&D department, over 80% of which have master’s or higher degrees, it gathers many excellent designers in electronics, optics, chip designing, hardware system, software, techniques, etc.

The FIBBR High-Bandwidth Fiber Optical Cable has the lowest bend radius, lowest attenuation, is thin, light, environmental-friendly, and flame-retardant.

All its internal and external protective materials are environmental-friendly, halogen-free and RoHS/REACH compliant. while in burning, the materials generate almost zero corrosion, extremely low rate of toxicity, very little smoke and is not harmful to human body. Besides, it has remarkable performance in flame retarding, therefore satisfying the requirements (Plenum) of flame resistance in family housing wiring. Each FīBBR cable has to pass a test of a million times of dragging and dropping, and it can pass 500N of flattening pressure test.
