The Swedish Ice Hockey Association has appointed Mike Helber as Strategic Sports Director. Helber, a former player and executive, will focus on talent development and collaboration between the federation and elite leagues, aiming to make Swedish hockey the best in the world. He brings vast experience and leadership to this new role.

The Professional Women's Hockey League has unveiled the names, logos, and colors for its six teams ahead of its second season. The teams have received distinct identities inspired by their respective cities, fans, and players. These new designs maintain the primary colors from the inaugural season while adding fresh elements. The PWHL hopes these identities will foster stronger connections between teams and their communities as they move into the next chapter of the league's growth.

The names: Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montréal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres.

On Thursday night, Fehérvár AV19's Timothy Campbell (#51) committed an Illegal check to the head or neck against Dynamo Pardubice's Roman Červenka (#19). The incident, occurring just 13 seconds into the game, involved Campbell delivering a hit to Červenka's head, deemed avoidable despite Červenka's turning motion.

Following a review of video evidence and in accordance with IIHF Rule 48, the CHL Sports Disciplinary Body has ruled the action as Category 1- ‘Careless.' Campbell will receive a one-game suspension and a €700 fine, effective immediately. Additionally, Campbell will be considered a repeat offender for any future disciplinary actions within the CHL.

Petr Nedvěd has stepped down as the general manager of the Czech national hockey team as of August 31, 2024, due to personal reasons. If circumstances change, the possibility of resuming the collaboration remains. The leadership of Czech Hockey is currently deciding who will take over his responsibilities. Nedvěd served as the general manager of the Czech national team since the 2018/19 season, with a break during the 2022/23 season. He returned for the 2023/24 season, during which the team won the World Championship title at the home tournament in Prague and also secured a bronze medal at the 2022 World Championship in Finland.

In the opening game of the Danish league, Herning Blue Fox secured a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory against SønderjyskE in Vojens. Emil Kristensen was the hero for Herning, scoring twice, including the game-winner in overtime.
