Brian served in the army Vietnam and Germany, which flavored much of his science fiction writing with fabulous detail. But what really sets his writing apart is the strong women characters, the laugh-out-loud humor and interesting word play.

Brian died in 1996 of pancreatic cancer - he was only 49.
