Live-Action 'How To Train Your Dragon' Movie First Look Teaser Trailer
"When you carry this axe, you carry all of us with you." But why hurt the dragons? Universal Pictures has unveiled an official teaser trailer for their live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie, following the Disney trend of turning their animated classics into "live-action" movies that feature tons of animated CGI in them anyway. The original HTTYD movie opened in theaters in 2010, and it was such a huge success for DreamWorks Animation they went on to make two more sequels, with the grand finale How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World landing in 2019. The story follows a young Viking boy as he aspires to help hunt dragons, and how he becomes unexpectedly a friend of a young dragon he decides to name Toothless. From the same director as the original three animated movies. Mason Thames (from The Black Phone) stars as Hiccup, Gerard Butler as Stoick, Nico Parker as Astrid, with Nick Frost, Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Ruth Codd, and Peter Serafinowicz, and Murray McArthur. This is a beautiful first look, actually has a better vibe than Disney's other "live-action" movies.
Teaser for 'Apple Cider Vinegar' Series Following a Wellness Fraudster
"I was on a quest to heal myself naturally." Netflix has unveiled a quick teaser trailer for a new series called Apple Cider Vinegar, yet another look at a snake oil saleswoman who fooled people into believing she had cancer and could cure it through wellness. So many of these stories about deception these days! Huh! This is a true-ish story based on a lie, about the rise and fall of a wellness empire; the culture that built it up and the people who tore it down. Set during the birth of Instagram, Apple Cider Vinegar follows two young women who set out to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, influencing their global online communities along the way. All of which would be incredibly inspiring if it were all true. With Kaitlyn Dever as Belle Gibson (who has since been taken to court), Alycia Debnam-Carey, Aisha Dee, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Ashley Zukerman, Mark Coles Smith, Susie Porter, Chai Hansen, Matt Nable, Phoenix Raei, Richard Davies, Kieran Darcy-Smith, Catherine McClements, and Essie Davis. The limited series was shot on-location in Melbourne, Australia. While clean eating is actually good & healthy, her big deception was claiming it could cure cancer, especially because she never had any cancer.
First Look Teaser for 'The Leopard' Series - Based on the Italian Novel
"Uncle, if we want things to stay as they are, things will have to change." Netflix has revealed the teaser trailer for The Leopard series, their new adaptation of this classic Italian novel. "A great story is timeless." The Leopard, also known as Il Gattopardo, written by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, was adapted once before into the acclaimed 1963 film also titled The Leopard starring Burt Lancaster and Claudia Cardinale. The Prince of Salina, a noble aristocrat of impeccable integrity, tries to preserve his family and class amid the tumultuous social upheavals of 1860s Sicily. The series will be a modern exploration of timeless themes – power, love, and the cost of progress. The teaser features Kim Rossi Stuart as the Prince of Salina, who is starring along with Benedetta Porcaroli, Deva Cassel, and Saul Nanni alongside Paolo Calabresi, Francesco Colella, Astrid Meloni, and Greta Esposito. It starkly contrasts the order and formality of Italian high society with the chaos and violence happening on the streets across 1860s Sicily. How does this compare to the classic film? This new series was shot between Palermo, Siracusa, Catania, and Rome. Enjoy.
Behind-the-Scenes Promo for 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' Series
"For me it was all about the camerawork." Netflix has unveiled a full 3-min behind-the-scenes featurette for their upcoming series One Hundred Years of Solitude, adapting the iconic novel of the same name. They debuted a teaser trailer earlier in 2024 but with the series ready to launch for streaming in December they're starting the final marketing blitz. In the timeless town of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion and the inescapability of their past — and their fate. The book by Nobel Prize winning author Gabriel García Márquez comes to Netflix, telling the story of the Buendía family, tormented by madness, impossible love, war, and the fear of a curse that condemns them to solitude for a 100 years in the mythical town of Macondo. The series stars Claudio Cataño, Jerónimo Barón, Santiago Vásquez, Marco González, Diego Vásquez, Leonardo Soto, Susana Morales, and Marleyda Soto. This new making of promo shows us how much money they spent making this sprawling generational tale from South America. "A visually captivating journey into the creative minds of Laura Mora and Alex García, showcasing how they directed this masterpiece. From the intricate construction, set design, and wardrobe to the depth of character development, this piece highlights the grand scale of the production." Looks great! Check it out.
First Teaser for 'The Studio' Series with Seth Rogen as a Studio Exec
"Hollywood. Where dreams go to die." Apple TV has unveiled a teaser trailer for a brand new series arriving in March 2025 next year. It's called The Studio, and it's a razor sharp, brutally honest satire making fun of the Hollywood studio system and the egotistical executives who work at these studios. The series follows a legacy Hollywood movie studio striving to survive in a world increasingly difficult for art & business to live together. "The job is a meat grinder." Indeed it is. Desperate for the approval of celebrities, he & his team of executives at Continental Studios must juggle corporate demands with creative ambitions as they try to keep movies alive and relevant. The Studio cast features Seth Rogen, Catherine O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, with Bryan Cranston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, & Dewayne Perkins. Plus tons of cameos from movie stars & famous directors. This looks like it should be a hilarious and entirely accurate look at how totally crazy the movie business is right now! Definitely will be watching.
Halina Reijn's Thriller 'Babygirl' Trailer #2 with Kidman & Dickinson
"I've never experienced anything like this..." Spicy. A24 has debuted the second official trailer for the erotic thriller film titled Babygirl, which originally premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival (and it won Best Actress). Babygirl is the latest feature from Dutch filmmaker Halina Reijn, following up her horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies recently. Written and directed by Reijn, Babygirl stars Nicole Kidman as a powerful CEO at a major corporation based in New York City. She begins an erotic affair with a hunky new intern who strolls through her company's doors one day. The two explore an intimate sub-dom relationship as they both come to understand their own sexuality. Babygirl also co-stars Harris Dickinson, Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, and Esther McGregor. This is a very seductive and sizzling trailer just like the first one, but I'm still not the biggest fan of the film. It's tantalizing but not edgy enough (here's my review). A smart modern film about our kinks and repressing sexual desires and how we need to learn to explore them more.
Watch: Crawling Into Her Boyfriend's Mind - 'Curiosa' Animated Short
"Maybe it's better if I tell you everything?" Another fantastic stop-motion animated short to feature today. This one comes from a British-Polish animation filmmaker named Tessa Moult-Milewska, who finished this as her graduation project from London's NFTS. Curiosa is a stop-motion animated film under 10 mins that premiered at the 2022 London Film Festival. It picked up numerous awards and is finally online after playing on the fest circuit a while. Curiosa tells the story of overly curious Mary, who visits her boyfriend's flat for the first time, just to discover it’s been stripped bare of all personal belongings. After being denied an explanation, she notices a door and decides to climb into his head. Learning quite a bit in the process. There is whole new style once she leaps into his mind, with body performances by Luna Tosin & Malik Ibheis. Plus the voices of Lizzie Waterworth-Santo as Mary & Dan Connolly as James. This fantastic short has such a unique look and feel, it's a clever and fascinating look at the psychology of romance. Enjoy.
Bonkers Grindhouse WWII Action Movie 'Dick Dynamite 1944' Trailer
"Remind me of your name one more time?" Epic Pictures has revealed an official trailer for a Scottish WWII action thriller movie called Dick Dynamite 1944, made by filmmaker Robbie Davidson. Dick Dynamite: The Movie is a full-on, bonkers cinematic tale featuring "creative, over-the-top kills, incredible stunt work, & tongue-in-cheek grindhouse humor. The only thing higher than the body-count is the number of instantly quotable one-liners." Ha ha. In the dying days of World War II, Dick Dynamite and his ragtag team of Nazi-killing commandos must stop a group of depraved German scientists from turning the population of New York into flesh-eating zombies. Bring it on! Starring Gary Snars Allan aka Snars, with Olly Bassi, Shaun Davidson, Mark Burdett, Adam Harper, and Valerie Birss. Plus cameos from famous rock musicians. "Dick Dynamite is a rock-and-roll rollercoaster through World War II—Robbie packed it with action, blood, guts and Zombies and you’re going to love it." This looks uber crazy and explosive and totally mad! Hell yes.

Altered Innocence has revealed an official US trailer for Endless Summer Syndrome, a French dark comedy romantic thriller that will be released this December in the US. Hitting theaters and VOD after first premiering in 2023. This French drama titled Le syndrome de l'été sans fin is actually made by an Iranian-Czech filmmaker named Kaveh Daneshmand. An extra peculiar, provocative film that might just get your attention.

This is already filmed and ready for release in a few weeks - streaming on Max in the US in addition to Channel 4 in the UK. An ex-Scotland Yard detective returns to Kingston to work in missing persons and finds herself on a quest to solve a case that will blow her world apart. "A mystery clashes with personal dilemmas."
